Doris E. Michaels
North Star Station owner

Doris E. Michaels, 89, of 670 E. SR 18, died, Tuesday May 15, 2001 in the Autumnwood Care Center.

She was born Aug. 23, 1911, in Seneca County, to Verne and Gladys Irene (Staley) Swander. Both are deceased. On July 10, 1928, at St. Joseph Church in Tiffin, she married Raymond J. Michaels. He died May 31, 1967.

Survivors include: two sons, John Michaels of Willard, and Frederick Michaels of Attica; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Audrey) Weller of Tiffin, and Mrs. Lyndel (Sylvia) Coder of Attica; a sister Ola Bau of Las Vegas, Nevada; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Deceased are: two sons, Earl and Edward Michaels; two brothers, Virgil and Francis Swander; and a sister, Helen Hill.

Mrs. Michaels was a homemaker and owner of the North Star Service Station.

The Rosary will be recited at 10:45 a.m., Saturday, prior to the 11 a.m. services, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin. The Rev. James K. Say will be the officiant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Friday, at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Charity of the Donor's Choice.

Dale Louis Gibbs
Retired truck driver

Dale Louis Gibbs, 79, of 8026 E. CR 24, Republic, died at 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2001 in the Ruffing Family Care Center in Bloomville.

He was born October 24, 1921, in Fremont, to Rex and Hattie (Schact) Gibbs. Both are deceased. On June 4, 1946, in Pomeroy, he married Alice C. McGrath. She died on June 15, 1993.

Survivors include: four sons, Dale Gibbs, Jr. of Elida, Raymond Gibbs of Old Fort, David Gibbs of Republic, and Thomas Gibbs of Menton, Ind., three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Penny) Feucht of Tiffin, Alice Rhoads of Palestine, Ind., and Mrs. John (Diana) Murray of Grand Prairie, TX; two sisters, Irene Shaffer and Reva Lehman, both of Fremont, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Deceased include: a brother, Leroy Gibbs and a sister, Helen Drown.

Mr. Gibbs served in the Army, retired in 1983 from Green Bay Packaging in Fremont, after 5 years as a truck driver. He also drove for the Fruit Belt Trucking in Clyde. He drove truck for 48 years.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge 846, Eagles Aerie 402, both of Tiffin, and A.A.R.P.

Services will take place at 1 p.m., Friday, at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home in Tiffin. The Rev. Paul Tyree will be the officiant. Graveside Veteran's Services will be conducted by the VFW and American Legion Councils in Clyde. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Clyde.

Visitation is 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Josephine Waddington
Mother of Bellevue residents

Josephine Waddington, 82, Girard St., Norwalk, died Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at Fisher-Titus Hospital.

She was born on March 27, 1919, in Bellevue, to Emil and Kathryn (Wiegand) Meyer. They are deceased. On July 4, 1940, she married Carl Waddington, and he survives.

Survivors also include: two sons, William Waddington of Huron, and Ronald Waddington of Bellevue; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Judy) Uther of Norwalk; two brothers, Harold Meyer of Norwalk, and Emil Meyer, Jr. of Bellevue; a sister, Mrs. Ed (Isabell) Koch of Bellevue; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Deceased include: four brothers, Edward, Albert, Carl and Clarence Meyer; three sisters, Elizabeth Martin, Florence Kahler and Irene Johnson.

Mrs Waddington was a homemaker and a Bellevue High School graduate in 1937. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at the Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St. in Bellevue. The Rev. David Wietelmann will be the officiant. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park in Huron.

Visitation is 3-7 p.m.,Thursday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue.
