John K. Estep
John K. Estep, 95, 651 S. CR 17, Tiffin, Ohio, died at 2 a.m. Nov. 5, 2001, at his residence.
He was born May 23, 1906, in Clinton Township, Ohio, to the late Robert and Blanche (Brock) Estep. His wife, Evelyn (Kiesel) Estep, whom he married Sept. 3, 1929, in the Old First English Lutheran Church, by Dr. Wayne O. Kantner, survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Kenneth J. and Marietta Estep of rural Tiffin, Ohio.
Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Walter, Paul and Wade Estep.
Mr. Estep was a retired farmer and a Shell Oil Co. employee 1926-1944, working in Tiffin, Toledo and other areas.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Tiffin; Clinton Township Trustees 1960-1980; Tiffin Lodge 77 Free and Accepted Masons for 65 years; Seneca Chapter 42; Clinton Council 47; DeMolay Commandery 9 and Zenobia Shrine-Tiffin.
A dedicated Republican, he started Clinton Volunteer Fire Department and served as a volunteer. He also was a Union Grange member; Charter member of Morrison Lake; a member of Seneca County Township Clerks Association and a member of the Seneca County Antique Farm Machinery Association.
A 1924 graduate of Columbian High School, he attended Tiffin University.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday Nov. 8, 2001, in Turner-Engle Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Culp officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Seneca County Cancer, St. John's United Church of Christ or the Shriner's Burn Hospital.
Gervase Ewald Evanoff
Gervase Ewald Evanoff, 96 years, of Toledo, formerly of Tiffin, died at 10 a.m. Saturday Nov. 3, 2001, in Waterford Commons Nursing Home, Toledo.
She was born Jan. 10, 1905, in Tiffin, Ohio, to the late William and Ida (Pirrung) Mayer. On Feb. 10, 1938, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, she married John E. Ewald and he died April 4, 1954. On May 3, 1989, in Christ The King Catholic Church, Toledo, she married Theodore Evanoff. He also is deceased.
Survivors include: a nephew, James and Barbara Mayer of Lambertville, Mich.; two nieces, Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Molchan of Temperance, Mich. and Mrs. George (Joyce) Schomer Sr. of South Yarmouth, Mass.; a half-brother, William and Faye Mayer of Fremont, Ohio; and a half-sister, Helen Fox of Fremont, Ohio.
Also preceding her in death was a brother, Gerald Mayer.
Mrs. Evanoff had worked for Wagner Insurance Agency, Tiffin, then moved to California for many years, then moved to Toledo.
She was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church, Toledo and formerly of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin.
She loved to dance and thought a great deal of her nieces, nephews and extended family.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday Nov. 8, 2001, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The rosary will be recited at the church at 10:45 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio.

Joan Nusbaum
Joan Nusbaum, 73, of 545 W. Market St., Tiffin, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at her home.
She was born Oct. 13, 1928, in Tiffin, to the late Ralph and Augusta (Johnson) Hausenfleck. She married Eldon Nusbaum on June 3, 1945, and he preceded her in death.
A sister Florence Wertz of Tiffin survives.
There will be no services or visitation.
Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home in Tiffin is in charge of arrangements.
Margery May Stoner
Margery "Margie" May Stoner, 73, of Fostoria, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Fostoria.
