![]() Monday, April 20, 1998 Riegel Foods workers reject contract offer Union and management negotiations came to a close Sunday as employees of Riegel Foods voted down a newly proposed labor contract. Because the contract was not accepted, the employees are scheduled to go on strike in three days. ''It was a worse contract than we already have. They want to keep taking and they are not willing to give,'' said a Riegel Foods employee who wishes to remain anonymous. ''If the fence is still up around the business, we will consider it a lockout, but if the fence is down, we will strike in three days.''
