Substances believed to be crack cocaine and marijuana were seized Thursday night by officers using a search warrant, Sheriff H. Weldin Neff reported Friday.

Neff said the search warrant from Seneca County Common Pleas Judge Michael Kelbley was using in finding a pound of marijuana at the residence of Donald J. Harshman at 1385 W. Woodland Ave. He said the marijuana would have a street value of about $1,600.

Also found were what is suspected to be crack cocaine and an unidentified amount of cash, Neff said.

He said they will have the substances examined at a laboratory.

The seizure was executed with the new drug dog and its handler, Sgt. Brian Hescht. They graduated from training this week.

Charges have yet to be filed in the case, but are pending. Neff said this was the first seacrh warrant for the new Seneca County & Village Enforcement Network (SeVEN).
