![]() THURSDAY, MAY 25, 2000 The circuses are coming to town By Christine Brucker School is out, summer is near and the circus is coming to town. Actually, make that two circuses. The first troupe will set up shop June 5 in Fostoria near the high school. Carson and Barnes Five Ring Circus will bring acrobats, clowns, exotic animals and flying trapeze acts in a traditional setting. The fun will begin at 8 a.m. when the troupe arrives. Families may watch as elephants raise the big top the way it was done years ago. Show times will be 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. June 5. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children in advance, $12 and $6 at the door. Proceeds from the circus will benefit the Fostoria Firefighters. Roberts Brothers Circus will set up shop June 8 at the Seneca County Fairgrounds. This three-ring show will offer all the trappings of a traditional traveling show including clowns, aerial acts, animals and acrobats. The fun will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a free behind-the-scenes glimpse of the circus. Show times will be 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 and $5 for kids. |
