Get fuel for your car and yourself

SYCAMORE -- When you enter the remodeled Sycamore Marathon/ Rosier's Deli you are greeted with the tempting aroma of fresh baked cinnamon buns. Those and many other bakery items are baked fresh daily on site. Also available are apple fritters, cookies, muffins, bread, pies and cakes.

Dennis Rosier, owner of the gas station and deli, invites everyone to participate in the grand opening Sept. 4-9.

"We will have specials, a couple drawings and give-aways for the grand opening," said Rosier.

He leased the Marathon station from May 1989 until June of 1999 when he purchased it. The old station was totally remodeled.

"The remodeling was done by local contractors. There were many people who helped me, but a special thank-you goes out to Sauber Electric, Sycamore Contractors and Tim Riedel. They did a great job and are a good bunch of guys," Rosier said.

In addition to the gas and bakery, customers can purchase hot chicken dinners, hot and cold deli sandwiches, bratwurst, hamburgers, and hot dogs.

"The hot food is available from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and some sandwiches are available until 8:30 p.m. We wanted something, so people in a hurry could get a sandwich and be out the door," Rosier added.

For those who want to sit and linger, there are 24 inside seats, plus outside seating.

Deli meats, cheeses, snack foods and picnic items are available. Milk, pop and beer are featured along with soft serve ice cream. A drive-through window adds to the convenience.

An added feature to the business is an ATM machine installed by The First National Bank of Sycamore, with no fees imposed for bank customers.

Rosier is not new to the gas station/deli business. He and his wife, Brenda own Rosier's Deli Mart and Brenda's Hair Place in Tiffin and Rosier's Country Market in McCutchenville. The Tiffin store sells CitGo gas while the McCutchenville store distributes Marathon gas.

"Brenda is really a beautician, but she gets involved in the business, too. We have two children, Bryan, who will be a junior at Ohio State and Jami, who will be a freshman at Bowling Green," Rosier said.

"We couldn't have gotten by without them. We depended on them. I thought Jami would take over one of the stores, but she wants to teach school," Rosier said.

The Sycamore Marathon/ Rosier Deli is open 6 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday. Contact them at 927-2500, or stop at the corner of SR 231 and SR 67/103.
