The $2 million fund-raising effort is being made to refurbish in several stages what previously was known as Columbian Stadium. An endowment fund also is planned to maintain the stadium. Edmond, who through the years covered hundreds of events at the stadium as A-T sports editor and Heidelberg College sports information director, died unexpectedly this week. His funeral is today. Elaine Hunt, who along with her husband, Bob, is spearheading the committee running the campaign, said Edmond was the first person to volunteer for the committee after the project was proposed. Memorial contributions in Edmond's name can be made to the project. A plaque will be placed in the press box after its renovation, dedicating it to his memory. The contributions can be sent to: Tiffin Stadium Project |
