Marlene A. (Theis) Hartman
T-N-T Pizza Co-owner

Marlene A. (Theis) Hartman, 45, of 152 Golfview Drive in Tiffin, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at her residence.

She was born in Tiffin, Aug. 12, 1955, to Alvin and Vanetta T. (Schalk) Theis. He is deceased and she survives in New Riegel. She married Gary Hartman on June 9, 2001, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Riegel. He survives in Tiffin.

Survivors also include: a stepson, Greg Hartman of Tiffin; and four brothers, Robert and Joseph Theis both of Fostoria, Steven Theis of Tiffin, and David Theis of New Riegel.

Mrs. Hartman was a graduate of New Riegel H.S. and Tiffin Academy of Hair Design. She was owner of Marlene Hair Classic in New Riegel and co-owner of T-N-T Pizza in Sycamore and New Riegel.

She was a past member of the New Riegel Village Council, was village grant writer; member of the Moose Auxiliary; and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Riegel.

The rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m. followed by Mass at10:30 a.m. Friday, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel. The Rev. Harry Cavanaugh C.P.P.S will be the officiant. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, Tiffin. Women of the Moose New Riegel 253 will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m. and a wake service will be at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials may be made to New Riegel EMS or a charity of the donor's choice.

George A. Johnson Jr.
Father of Tiffin residents

George A. Johnson Jr., 43, of Columbus, died at 2:42 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2001, at his residence.

He was born in Warren July 9, 1958, to George A. and Virginia (Barritt) Johnson Sr. He survives in Niles and she is deceased.

Survivors include: three sons, George A. Johnson III, Matthew Johnson, and Christopher Johnson, all of Tiffin, a brother, John Johnson of Niles; and two sisters, Nancy Phillips of Girard, and Linda Johnson of Niles.

He worked for 15 years in the shipping department with Crane Plastics Company in Columbus.

He was a member of Niles First United Methodist Church and graduated from Niles McKinley H.S. in 1977. He enjoyed music and musical theater.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Niles. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today at Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, 126 W. Park Ave., Niles and one-half hour prior to services, Thursday, at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.

James M. Bethel Jr.
Fostoria resident

James M. Bethel Jr., 61, of Fostoria, died Monday, July 23, 2001 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.

He was born in Fostoria, Dec. 25, 1939, to James and Florence (Myers) Bethel Sr. They are deceased. He married Doris M. Meyers Dec. 31, 1969, in Fostoria. They were divorced.

Survivors include: a daughter, Victoria Bethel of Springfield; two sisters, Charlotte Connor and Mary Palmer, both of Fostoria; and six grandchildren.

A daughter, Gina Bethel,is deceased.

Graveside services will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at Fountain Cemetery in Fostoria with the Rev. Paul E. Myers officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria is in charge of arrangements.

Floyd A. Rine
Green Springs resident

Floyd A. Rine, 90, of 7765 E CR 34, Green Springs, died Tuesday, July 24, 2001.

Arrangements are pending at Engle-Young Funeral Home in Green Springs.

John D. Patterson
Former Tiffin resident

Word has been received that John D. Patterson, 75, of North Syracuse, NY, died July14, 2001.

He was born in Tiffin and graduated from Columbian High School in 1943.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret (Schauder) Patterson of North Syracuse, NY; a son, John Michael Patterson of North Syracuse, NY; three daughters, Mrs. James (Ruth) Shirley of Baldwinsville NY, Mrs David (Kathleen) Fuller, and Mrs. Stephen (Eileen) Snook of Lagrangeville, NY.

He attended Ohio State University and graduated from Valparaiso Technical Institute in Valparaiso, Ind. He was a Navy veteran in World War II. He retired in 1985 after 35 years with General

Electric Co. in Syracuse.

He was past exalted ruler of BPOE 2454 of Cicero-North Syracuse, and was a life member of F and AM 77 of Tiffin. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1297, for many years and was a member and chairman of the Town of Clay Planning Board.

Services took place July 17, 2001. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
