Jacob M. Schlenker
Fostoria resident
Jacob M. "Jake" Schlenker, 94, of SR 587, died at 8:20 p.m., Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Fostoria.
He was born on August 16, 1906, in Cincinnati, to Jacob and Elizabeth (Brewe) Schlenker. On June 25, 1932, in Fostoria, he married Thelma I. Quail. She died June 21, 1976.
Survivors include: three sons, Robert Schlenker of New Riegel, William Schlenker of Fostoria, and John Schlenker of West Chicago, Ill; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased include two brothers, Kell and Irving Schlenker; and three sisters, Loretta, Emma, and Mildred Schlenker.
Mr. Schlenker, a 1924 graduate of Fostoria High School, retired as a self-employed farmer in 1968. He was a barber in Fostoria in the 1940's, and employed at National Machinery in Tiffin.
Services will be private. Burial will take place in St. John's Cemetery near Fostoria.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m., today, at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Special Care Unit of the Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
Mable Haddad Beaver
Former Tiffin resident
Word has been received that Mable Haddad Beaver, 93, of Lake Park, Florida, died April 14, 2001, at Brighton Gardens in West Palm Beach, Fla.
She was born in Franklin, N. H., on March 21, 1908, to Michael and Saddie Haddad. Her husband of 37 years, Claude Beaver, is deceased.
Surviving include a son, Dr. Brian M. Beaver; two sisters, Minerva Karrip and Edna Gillette; one brother, Michael Karrip; and two grandchildren.
Deceased include: a son, Robert Beaver.
Mrs. Beaver, a former resident of Tiffin, was a member of Oceanview United Methodist Church in Palm Beach, Fla., was a past president of YWCA Wives, and Leisure Hour. For 25 years, she was the Women's Club florist, president of the Couples Club for 35 years, and served on the board of the Washington St. Methodist Church, in Tiffin.
She attended South High School in Grand Rapids. Mich., and later worked for Michigan Bell, New England Bell, and Ohio Bell in Toledo.
Interment will be at 10:30 a.m., June 16, at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens in West Palm Beach.

Teresa M. Murphy
Sister of local residents
Word has been received that Teresa M. Murphy, 83, of Johnsonburg, N.Y., died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at St. Francis Home, in Williamsville, N.Y.
Miss Murphy was born April 11, 1917, in Johnsonburg, N.Y. to Ernest J. and Mattie C. (Meyers) Murphy.
Survivors include: four brothers, Joseph E. Murphy of Bascom, Charles W., and Norman P. Murphy, both of Varysburg, N.Y., and Paul V. Murphy of Attica; seven sisters, Estella M. Petrie of Arcade, N.Y., Viola M. Murphy of Bascom, Sister M. Patrick, SSJ, of Buffalo, N.Y., Mrs. E. Donald (Genevieve) Burlingame, of Williamsville, N.Y., Mary Frances Reynolds of Corfu, N.Y., Rita A. Murphy of Batavia, N.Y., and Mrs. Arnold (Doris) DuPont of Lansdale, Pa.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Varysburg and housekeeper at the church rectory for many years. She was a member of the Ladies of Charity and Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Burial took place April 10 at St. Joseph's Church Cemetery, in Varysburg, N.Y.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Julianna Hannam
Former Sycamore resident
Julianna Hannam, 84, of Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky, died at 8:04 p.m., Sunday, April 21, 2001, in Fairhaven Community.
She was born on May 2, 1916, in Toledo, to Wladislaw and Maryanna (Olexanka) Ciborowski. They are deceased.
On Dec. 26, 1930, in Toledo, she married Hershal C. Haman. He died Feb. 23, 1988.
Survivors include: two sons, Hershal C. Hannam, Jr. of Lakeland, Fla., and Don V. Hannam of Sycamore; and a daughter, Mrs. James (Hazel) Stillberger of Sycamore; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.
Deceased include: 11 brothers and sisters, and a granddaughter.
Mrs. Hannam, a homemaker, was a co-owner, with her husband, of Bowlmer Lanes in Sycamore, and was employed at General Electric in Bucyrus.
She was a member of the Sycamore United Church of Christ, the Mohawk Sixty Plus Club in Sycamore; and member and past secretary of the Women's Bowling Association. She enjoyed reading and cooking.
Services will take place at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Sycamore.
Visitation is 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Mohawk Community Library or the Sycamore United Church of Christ.
Martha Engler
Bellevue resident
Martha Engler, 91, formerly of Lyme St., Bellevue, died Sunday, April 22, 2001, in the Bellevue Care Center.
She was born in Marysville, Ohio, May 15, 1909, to William and Elizabeth (Eickemeyer) Nicol. In 1934, she married Leonard Engler and he died in 1990.
Survivors include: three sons, David Engler of Minnesota, Bruce Engler of Florida, and Doyle Engler; a daughter, Mrs. Ervin (Barbara) Shufelt of Bellevue; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers and a grandson.
Mrs. Engler, was a laborer for 22-1/2 years at General Electric, in Bellevue. She attended Woodville High School, was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue, and the Navy Mothers.
Graveside services will take place at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, at the Bellevue Cemetery with the Rev. David Wietelmann officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are being handled by Auxter Funeral Home, Bellevue.
Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
