George O. Barr
Retired Webster Mfg. employee

George O. Barr, 80, of Tiffin, died Sunday, May 20, 2001, in the Ruffing Care Center of Tiffin.

He was born Nov. 1, 1920, in Castalia, Ohio to Howard and Bertha (Stewart) Barr. Both are deceased. On June 2, 1945, in

Sandusky, he married Ruth J. Bennington. She died Jan. 14, 1991.

Survivors include: two sons, Ronald L. Barr of Pocatello, Idaho, and Neal A. Barr of Belton, Texas; five daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Judy) Zabel of Western, Neb., Mrs. William (Kathleen) Decker of Findlay, Ruth Scott, and Mrs. Duane (Cheryl) Wisebaker both of Tiffin., and Mrs. Walter (Charlene) Miller of McCutchenville; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Deceased are two brothers, Fay and Lee Barr and a sister, Clara Mae Morrow.

Mr. Barr was employed as a spray painter at Webster Mfg. from 1970-1988, when he retired. He was of the Methodist Faith and a Norwalk High School graduate.

Services will take place at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home in Tiffin. The Rev. Larry Smith will be the officiant. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Helen M. Davenport
Green Springs resident

Helen M. Davenport, 88, formerly of 4115 Smith Rd., Green Springs, died at 9:20 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2001, in the Bethesda Care Center in Fremont, where she had been a patient since Oct. 1999.

She was born on Dec. 10, 1912, in Bowling Green, to Orville and Flora Irene (Fuller) Ward. Both are deceased. On Feb. 8, 1936, in Endicott, N.Y., she married Lewis L. Davenport. He died Jan. 8, 1977.

Survivors include: sons, Eldon Davenport of East Brewton, Ala., Harold Davenport of Green Springs, Sanford Davenport of Vickery, Marvin Davenport of Fremont; a daughter, Beverly Barr of Vickery; brothers, Robert Ward of Dayton, Richard Ward of Atlanta, William and John Ward, both of Bowling Green;19 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.

Deceased include: a son, Donald Davenport; a brother, Howard Ward; two sisters, Geraldine Garrett and Mary Miller; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

Mrs. Davenport was a homemaker and member of the Green Creek Farm Women Organization. She graduated in 1930 from Bowling Green High School.

Services will take place at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs, with the Pastor Paul Finney officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Clyde.

Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Unit of Bethesda Care Center or the American Heart Association.

Bertha M. Stull
Lifetime Bettsville resident

Bertha M. Stull, 79, died at 4:50 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2001, at the Autumwood Care Center of Tiffin. Arrangements are pending at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home.
