Loretta A. Claus
Bellevue homemaker

Loretta A. Claus, 83, of Del Moy Avenue, Bellevue, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000,in the Bellevue Care Center.

She was born April 8, 1917, in Marywood, Franks, Seneca County, to Frank and Catherine (Schreiner) Frisch. On May 10, 1938, she married Walter C. Claus, who survives.

Other survivors include: six children, Martin Claus of Bellevue, Mrs. Gene (Terry) Missler of Norwalk, Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Frankfather, Raymond and Roger Claus, all of Bellevue and Mrs. John (Patricia) Loose of Monroeville; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Stockmaster of New Washington and Helen Meyers of Milan; and a brother, Frank Frisch Jr. of Tiffin.

Also preceding her in death were a granddaughter, five sisters, Nora Alt, Ann Guloski, Hilda Moyer, Marcella Heyman and Rose Stockmaster; and two brothers, Lawrence and Leo Frisch.

Mrs. Claus, a homemaker, was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bellevue, and its Altar Rosary Society.

A life-time Bellevue area resident, she attended the Franks Area School.

The Rev. Robert Tucceri will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Saturday service in Immacualte Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Auxter-Groff Funeral Home, Bellevue, where the rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m.l

Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception School, Father Bishop Memorial Fund or Stein Hospice, Sandusky.

Robert L. Porter
Bucyrus Post Office retiree

Robert L. Porter, 75, of 3490 S. SR 4, Attica, died Tuesday evening, July 4, 2000, in the Bellevue Hospital, after an illness of several months.

He was born June 19, 1925, in Green Camp, Ohio, to Francis and Zella (Daughtery) Keppler. On Sept. 30, 1967, in Attica, he married Dolores A. Binninger, who survives.

Survivors also include: a daughter, Mrs. Todd (Becky) Radel of Jackson Center; two sons, Steven Porter of Jackson Center and William Porter of Bartow, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Dwight (Nina Ruth) Hedges of Green Camp; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Aldene Daniels and a brother, William Keppler.

Mr. Porter, a 1943 graduate of Marion Harding High School, worked as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Bucyrus, retiring in 1986, after 30 years of service. He had previously worked for the Ohio State Patrol.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater, where he received a Purple Heart for wounds sustained in combat. He was a 37-year member of Colonel Crawford American Legion 181, Bucyrus

Also a member of Attica United Methodist Church, he served many years as a United Methodist Lay speaker.

He was a 50-year member of Attica Lodge 367, a 30 year member of both the Golden Rule Chapter 167 and Golden Rule Council 132, both of Willard. He also was a member of DeMolay Commandry 9 of Tiffin and the Demolay Commandry Drill Team. Mr.Porter was head of all four Masonic bodies several times and also was a member of the Knight York Cross of Honor, Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, Seneca Scottish Rite Association, Zenobia Shrine Temple of Toledo, Tall Cedars of Lebanon-Emerald Council 7 and the Masonic Camping-National Camping Travelers.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Attica United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Thom Kalb and the Rev. Malcome Brooks as co-officiants. Burial will be in Attica-Venice Cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by Colonel Crawford American Legion Post 181.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville, where Masonic services will be at 6:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Knight Templar Eye Foundation or the church.
