Dorothy Mae Kittle
Former Old Fort homemaker
Dorothy Mae Kittle, 90, formerly of Old Fort, died at 7:10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, in the Bellevue Hospital, where she had been a patient for four days.
She was born July 14, 1910, in rural Seneca County, to Edward and Alice (Baumann) Fought. On March 2, 1933, in Green Springs United Methodist Church, she married James Clark Kittle. He preceded her in death Jan. 29, 1993.
Survivors include: a son, J. William Kittle of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Marjorie) Berlekamp of Green Springs and Mrs. Ralph (Jeanne) Joseph of Old Fort; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, Willard Fought of Clyde; two sisters, Marian Abbott of Fremont and Mildred Schwan of Clyde.
Also preceding her in death was a brother, Howard Fought.
Mrs. Kittle, a homemaker, lived most of her life in Seneca County.
A 1928 graduate of Green Springs High School, she was a member of Green Springs United Methodist Church, its United Methodist Women and Icedore Chapter 299 Order Eastern Star, where she served as past matron in 1956 and DGM in 1969.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Green Springs United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James Scott officiating. Burial will be in Green Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. Friday in the Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs. The Green Springs Icedore Chapter 299 Order Eastern Star will hold services at 7 p.m., tonight, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the church, Eastern Star or a charity of the donor's choice.
Donald A. Schubach
Lifelong Green Springs resident
Donald A. Schubach, 80, of 401 W. Adams St., Green Springs, died at 3:26 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000 at Cleveland Clinic. He was born Feb. 20, 1920 to George N. and Lottie A. (Weiker) Schubach. On Dec. 24, 1944 he married Naomi Elizabeth Pontius at Green Springs Methodist Church, she survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Janett Sue Calland of Oak Harbor, Mrs. Beverly Jean Barrick of Grove City; a twin brother, Ronald Schubach; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Alyce Schraeder.
Mr. Schubach was a graduate of Green Springs High School, class of 1938. He worked as a farmer; for Young Funeral Home in Green Springs; Green Springs Co-Op; and Federal Chemical Company. His memberships included: Green Springs United Methodist Church, active in all church related activities, including 40 years in the choir and served on the Board of Trustees; Adams Township Trustee for 10 years; served on Green Springs Council 12 years; he was one of Ohio's first EMT's; Green Spring Lodge F&AM 427 50 years; Icedore Chapter 299 Order Eastern Star 50 years; Past Master Lodge 427 and Past Patron of Icedore Eastern Star; a 50 year member Clinton Council 47; and a 50 year member Tiffin DeMolay Commandery 9; also a 50 year member Seneca Chapter 42; and a 50 year member Royal Arch Masons; he belonged to the Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo; Seneca County Scottish Rite Association. He was also an enthusiast of antique steam engines and John Deere tractors.
The Rev. James A. Scott will officiate the 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000 funeral service at the Green Springs United Methodist Church. Burial will be at St. Jacob Cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., tonight, at the Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs. Eastern Star 299 will hold services at 7:30 p.m., tonight, followed by Masonic services.
Memorials may be made to Green Springs United Methodist Church and/or Building Fund of Green Springs Masonic Temple.
Jodi Wyant
Tiffin resident
Jodi Wyant, 38, of 46 1/2 Miami St., Tiffin died at her residence on Monday, Sept. 18, 2000. She was born May 6, 1962 to Stephen Wyant who survives in Clyde and Ruth Ann (Kenan) Wyant who died in 1974.
Also surviving include: her step-mother, Mary Beth Fiser of Clyde; a brother, Charles Wyant of New hampshire; two step-brothers, Matthew Wyant of Bellevue, and Mark Wyant of Clyde; a sister, Stephanie Monrean of Clyde; a step-sister, Brandi Wyant of Clyde; and six nieces and nephews.
Ms. Wyant is a class 1980 graduate of Swanton High School. She enjoyed painting and drawing.
The Rev. William Ownes will officiate the 1 p.m. Saturday funeral service at Foos-Klein Funeral Home in Clyde. The private burial will be at Smith Cemetery, Burgoon at a later date.
Visitation hours are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home

Janet Mieras
Former Tiffin resident
Janet Mieras, 69, of Grand Haven, Mich., formerly of Tiffin, died on Friday September 15, 2000, following a battle with cancer. She was born May 29, 1931 in Tiffin to Joseph E. and Dorothy (Feurer) Blaney. On Oct. 23, 1953 she married Raymond G. Mieras, he survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Kimberly Zevalink of Grand Haven, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Polak of Grand Haven, and Mrs. Peg Budres of Greenville, Mich.; two brothers, Tom Blaney of Jupiter, Fla., and James Blaney of Jackson, Mich.; two grandchildren; and several nieces .
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lynn.
Mrs. Mieras attended the University of Michigan's Banking School. She worked for People's Bank & Trust and NBD Bank for a total of 30 years. A member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church; also she was a Board Member for the United Way for many years. She was a member of the City of Grand Haven Cemetery Board; she was a great advocate for the beautification of the cemetery. Mrs. Mieras was a former member of Highland Park Association, and had a passion for gardening.
A Funeral Mass was held Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grand Haven, Mich. Burial took place at Lake Forest Cemetery, Grand Haven. The VanZantwick-Bartels-Kammeraad Funeral Home of Grand Haven, Michigan handled the arrangements.
