Marcella B. 'Sally' Gabel
Former Ole Zim's employee
Marcella B. "Sally" (Lilley) Gabel, 90, formerly of 7 W. Market St. and also of Fremont, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, in St. Francis Home.
She was born in Coldwater Aug. 20, 1909, to George and Matilda (Ahlers) Heinrichs. She married Harold "Bud" Lilley June 1, 1938. He died Feb. 7, 1964. She married Walter Gabel Feb. 16, 1974. He died March 4, 1993.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. George (Doris) Daniel of Sycamore, Mrs. Louis (Janet) Schwartz of Columbus; a stepson, Charles Gabel of Fremont; two stepdaughters, Mrs. John (Janet) Schueler of Bloomville and Mrs. William (Mary) Hershey of Henderson, Nev.; 10 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence Heinrichs of Attica.
She follows in death an infant son, Donald Lilley; a brother, Walter Heinrichs; and a step-great-grandson, Ryan Schueler.
Mrs. Gabel was a homemaker; packaged tools at Calvan Tools in Fremont; assisted with catering; and was employed with Ole Zim's Wagon Shed in Fremont and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella at Our Lady of the Pines Circle, the Marian Society at St. Joseph Church, Fremont, St. Francis Home Auxiliary, St. Francis Villa Maria Senior Guild at Green Springs, Golden Threads at Fremont Memorial Hospital, Kiwanis Manor Senior Community Center; former active member of Fremont St. Joseph's Catholic Church and St. Michael's Catholic Church in Gibsonburg.
The funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Murd officiating and burial following at 2 p.m. in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, where a wake service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service Monday with the rosary being recited at 10:15 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Francis Home or to a favorite charity in her memory.
Anna S. Ison
Tiffin homemaker
Anna S. Ison, 81, formerly of 7 Beechwood Drive, died at 4:58 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, in the Autumnwood Care Center, where she had been a patient since April 8, 1997.
Mrs. Ison was born June 29, 1918, in Whitesburg, Ky., to Lenville and Belle (Rouark) Cornett. She married Jonah Mitchell, who died. She later married Reese Ison, who is also deceased.
Survivors include: five sons, Donald V. Mitchell, Jerry Ison and Jeff Ison of Tiffin, Dan Ison of Morristown, Tenn., and David Ison of Dayton; four daughters, Mrs. Carmel (Patricia) Hampton of Whitesburg, Ky., Mrs. Donald (Betty) Hall of Tiffin, Mrs. Willis (Wanda) Wagner of Morristown, Tenn., and Margaret Ison of Texas; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Mattie Whitaker and Mrs. Grace Cornett, both of Whitesburg, Ky., Mrs. Maude Pilkington of Gastonia, N. C., and Mrs. Ben (Jean) Allen of Florence, Ala.
She follows in death two brothers, Monroe and Kinard Cornett; and two sisters, June Fugate and Mae Gibson.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Southern Freewill Baptist Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home with the Rev. Watson Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairmont Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour before the service Monday.
Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Fund.
Michael Brandon Raitz
Stillborn son
Michael Brandon Raitz was stillborn at 7:13 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000. He was the son of Gerald Allen Raitz Jr. and Christi Ann (Bland) May, who both survive.
Also surviving are four brothers; two sisters; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Patricia Bland of Tiffin; and the paternal grandparents, Gerald and Charlene Raitz also of Tiffin.
Private graveside service will be today in St. Mary's Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
The Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mary E. Aldrich
Fostoria resident
Mary E. Aldrich, 78, of Park Avenue, Fostoria, died at 3:18 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, in Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born March 7, 1921, in Shadyside to Dr. Ewing D. and Sarah (Hart) Piper. She married Oliver H. Aldrich in Fostoria April 14, 1951. He died Sept. 20, 1982.
Survivors include: two daughters, Barbra and Jane Aldrich of Charleston, S. C.; and a sister, Mrs. Carl (Eleanor) Armstrong of New Philadelphia.
She follows in death a son, Joseph Aldrich; and a brother, Miles Piper.
Mrs. Aldrich was a 1939 graduate of Shadyside high school and a 1942 graduate of The Ohio State University with a bachelor of science degree in education. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Jane Washington Chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution.
Graveside services will be conducted at Knollcrest Cemetery (formerly Memory Gardens) near Arcadia at 1:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. R. Edson Reed officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Ryan Thomas Myers
Infant son
Ryan Thomas Myers, son of Dan Myers and Wendy Little of Clyde, was born and died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at the Toledo Hospital.
Arrangements are pending at Foos-Klein Funeral Home, Clyde.
