Raymond F. Miller
Norfolk/Southern Railroad retiree

Raymond F. Miller, 75, of Midvale, Clyde, died in Firelands Community Hospital, Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999.

He was born in Bellevue, June 20, 1923, to Jacob and Theresa (Holmer) Miller. On Jan. 31, 1948, he married Norma Brunn, who preceded him in death Dec. 25, 1986.

Survivors include: a son, Matthew Miller of Clyde; six daughters, Mrs. Rodney (Linda) Shaw of Monroeville, Mrs. Thomas (Cathy) Caldwell, Mrs. Laurie King, Mrs. Kevin (Deanna) Kindred and Mrs. Robert (Debora) Evans, all of Clyde, and Mrs. Ed (Chris) Porter of Toledo; a brother, Arnold Miller of Norwalk; two sisters, Leona Wise of Willard and Lucille Weisenberger of Norwalk; and 10 grandchildren.

A son, David Miller, died in 1980; and a sister, Viola Krupp, also is deceased.

Mr. Miller, who received his education in the Willard schools, retired in 1985 from the Norfolk and Southern Railroad, after 30 years of service.

A World War II U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater, was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Moose, Legion of the Moose and Eagles, all of Clyde.

A funeral Mass in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Jeff Nordhaus as celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, where Moose services will be at 6:45 p.m. and a Christian Wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.

Frank E. Tryon Jr., 84, died 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky. Arrangements are pending at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Elwood G. Kimes
Union Carbide retiree

Elwood G. Kimes, 87, of 25 Christopher Drive, formerly of 707 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, died at 12:14 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, in Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born in Fostoria, Jan. 6, 1912, to Howard E. and Anna (Daub) Kimes. On July 16, 1950, in Fostoria, he married Bernice A. Wolf, who survives in Fostoria.

A son, Howard M. Kimes of Springfield, and five grandchildren survive.

Preceding him in death were: two brothers, Michael and Milton Kimes, and two sisters, Helen Stoldt and Thelma Schubert.

A World War II U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Kimes retired in 1970 from National Electric Carbon, Fostoria, where he was employed as a brick mason for 10 years.

He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church and the VFW, both of Fostoria, and the VFW Nation Champ Bank.

Services in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Jeffrey Waite officiating. Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, with military graveside services conducted by the United Veterans of Fostoria.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to High Street United Methodist Church, 243 W. High St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830; or the Fostoria Community Foundation, 121 N. Main St., Fostoria.

Loren G. Guild
Retired WTTF Radio engineer

Loren G. Guild, 79, 40 W. Crestview Drive, died at 11:31 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

Born March 3, 1919, in Port Huron, Mich., to George Newman and Margaret (Harris) Guild, he married Wanda J. Parent, Nov. 17, 1956, in Bad Axe, Mich. She survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include: a son, Ronald Guild of Commerce City, Colo.; a step-son, Richard Parent of Phoenix, Ariz.; a step-daughter, Paula Combs of Tiffin; a sister, Isabelle Crull of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

Two sisters, Leta Novick and Nancy Alcorn, and a brother, John Guild, are deceased.

Mr. Guild, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, retired as an engineer from WTTF Radio, where he had worked 1964-86.

He was a member of the Baptist church and VFW Post 2858.

There will be no service or visitation. The body has been cremated. Burial will be in Bad Axe at a later date.

The Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Joseph M. Rodriguez
Factory employee

Joseph M. Rodriguez, 59, of Sandusky CR 260, Clyde, died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999,in the Bellevue Hospital.

He was born May 4, 1939, in Texas, to Joe V. and Adelina (Moreno) Rodriguez. His father survives in Clyde. On July 30, 1960, he married Genoveva Veliz, who survives.

Survivors also include: three children, Victoria Smetzer and Mario Rodriguez, both of Clyde, and Maria Rodriguez of Sandusky; six grandchildren; eight sisters, Ricky Deel of Republic, Lupe Smallwood of West Virginia, Mary Ann Rodriguez of Detroit, Mich. (Mt. Clemans), Maya Garcia of Clyde, Sylvia Rodriguez of Fremont, Elvita Miller of Toledo, and Elvia Bockbrader and Teresa Waggoner, both of Fremont; and four brothers, Samuel Rodriguez of Akron, Benny Rodriguez of Clyde, David Rodriguez of Sandusky and John Rodriguez of Bellevue.

His mother is deceased.

Mr. Rodriguez, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde, retired as a laborer in June 1986, from A. Schylman Inc., Bellevue.

A lifetime resident of the Clyde area, he received his education at Townsend High School.

The Rev. Jeff Nordhaus will be the celebrant at the 10:30 a.m. Wednesday funeral Mass in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

There will be no visitation. The Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, is in charge of arrangements.

Myron L. Snyder
Gray Printing Co. retiree

Myron L. Snyder, 93, formerly of 144 E. Sixth St., Fostoria, died at 5:23 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, 725 Columbus Ave.,Fostoria, where he resided.

He was born in Kansas, Ohio, Oct. 27, 1905, to John and Lodiska (Lanning) Snyder. His wife, Velma I. (Traucht) Snyder, is deceased.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. James (Jacquelin) Boulhoulle of Fostoria and Mrs. Joretta Niswender of Columbus; two sisters, Mrs. Cleo Pierce of Columbus and Mrs. Donna Pierce of Fostoria; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Clyde and John Jr. Snyder, and two sisters, Laura Bryan and Beatrice McCullough, also preceded him in death.

Mr. Snyder, a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria, retired Sept. 29, 1967, as an operator from Gray Printing Company, Fostoria, where he had been employed for 40 years.

The Rev. Richard Hofmann will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Tuesday service in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia.

Visitation at the funeral home will be two hours prior to the service on Tuesday.

Vivian L. McCullough
Retired General Electric inspector

Vivian L. McCullough, 76, 26 Elwood St., died in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin at 3:35 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 1999.

She was born in Kansas City, Kan., Dec. 14, 1922, to Hilliard and Anna Alston. Her husband of 51 years, Thomas McCullough, whom she married Aug. 31, 1947, survives.

Also surviving are: a daughter, Rosalind Evers of Tiffin; four grandchildren; a brother, Walter Austin of Inster, Mich.; two sisters, Captolia Browning of Tehachapi, Calif., and Ordray Hand of Detroit, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McCullough, who had lived most of her life in Tiffin, retired in 1986 as an inspector from General Electric, after 30 years of employment.

She was a member of St. James Church of God in Christ, Toledo, and enjoyed crocheting, word puzzles and especially cooking.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home of Tiffin. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday and noon until time of the service on Thursday.

Memorials may be made the church.

Edna M. Michaels
Sterling Abrasive retiree

Edna M. Michaels, 84, 185 Huss St., died at 9:55 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, in Autumnwood Care Center.

She was born in Tiffin, May 18, 1914, to John and Mary Jane (Gruber) Bormuth.She first married Stanley Krock, who is deceased. Her second husband, Paul Michaels, survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Allen Krock of Marengo; a daughter, Mary F. Porter of Tiffin; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Two sisters, Mildred Estep and Ruth Hites, are deceased.

Mrs. Michaels, a member of the Protestant faith and the Ladies of the Moose, Tiffin, retired as a laborer from Sterling Abrasive, where she had been employed for 35 years.

The Rev. Wendell Shepherd will conduct the 10 a.m. Tuesday service in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 4-8 p.m. Monday.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of the donor's choice.

Margaret L. Minder
Retired housekeeper

Margaret L. Minder, 91, a resident of the Good Shepherd Home, formerly of South Poplar Street, both of Fostoria, died at 9:55 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, in Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born Jan. 15, 1908, on a family farm near Alvada, to John and Anna M. (Herbert) Minder. She never married.

Several nieces and nephews survive.

Preceding her in death were: a brother, Herbert Minder; and five sisters, Ellen Phillips, Ida Myers, Frances and Elsa Minder and Laura Coldren.

A member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Fostoria, and its Women's Guild, she had been employed as a housekeeper in the Fostoria area for more than 40 years, retiring in 1982.

Services in St. John's United Church of Christ, SR 587, Fostoria, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. James E. Michaels officiating. Burial will be in St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to the church. _

Services for Minnie Cook, 84, of 307 W. Eighth St., Sycamore, who died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at her home, will be 12:30 p.m. Monday in the United Methodist Church, Sycamore. The Rev. Frank Tyree will officiate. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home of Tiffin and at the church one hour before the service on Monday.
