Carol Ann Roth
Architectural office secretary/treasurer

Carol Ann Roth, 59, of Findlay, died Saturday, April 15, 2000, following a battle with cancer.

She was born in Akron, Oct. 13, 1940, to Claire and Orene (Ford) Kibler, who survive in Akron. Her husband of 39 years, David J. Roth, also survives.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Charles P. (Tamela A.) Miller of Plano, Texas; two sons, Timothy D. and Stephen E. Roth, both of Findlay; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Lee Kibler of Florida.

Mrs. Roth had been employed as secretary and treasurer of her husband's architectural office, The Architect, for the past 24 years.

An active member of the Findlay Order of Eastern Star 23, she served as Ada, Ruth, Esther and Elctra and as past president and was the current treasurer of the Findlay Social Order of Beauceant of the Assembly 252.

She also was an active member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she and her husband worshipped for the past 30 years; she was a member of the Altar Guild, communion bread bakers, Good News Sunday School class and served as an offering counter with her husband for a number of years.

A 1958 graduate of North High School, Akron, she was a four-year member of the marching band and a three-year member of the French Club. She attended Kent State University, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Findlay, with the Rev. Mark E. Brodbeck and Pastor Don Bridinger officiating. Graveside services will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery, east of Findlay.

Visitation is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, where Eastern Star and Social Order of the Beauceant services will be at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the church, Bridge Home Health and Hospice, Cancer Patient Services and the Knight's Templar Eye Foundation.

Gerald L. Huston
General Electric retiree

Gerald L. Huston, 77, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, April 16, 2000, at his home at 2 Teakwood Drive.

He was born March 26, 1923, in Kenton, to Harry C. and MIldred (Lytle) Huston. On June 3, 1949, in the Second United Church of Christ, Tiffin, he married his wife of 50 years, Mina Belle (Day) Huston, who survives.

Survivors also include: two sons, Harry "Bud" Huston of Marion and Steven Huston of Tiffin; a daughter, Cynthia Feasel of Tiffin; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a step-brother, James Gockerman of Bradenton, Fla.

A great-grandchild and a brother, Harry Arnold Huston, also are deceased.

Mr. Huston, a World War II U.S. Army Corp of Engineers veteran, retired as a machinist from General Electric.

A 1940 graduate of Fostoria High School, he was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, its Kum Double Class,Tiffin VFW and Eagles and the Senior Citizen TRIAD, where he served as past officer.

He was formerly a reserve officer for the Seneca County Sheriff's Office and Tiffin Police Department and served as a Tiffin E.M.T.

The Rev. Gail Angel will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Tuesday service in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and an hour before the services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care.

B. Louise Cook
Fostoria homemaker

B. Louise Cook, 79, of West Ridge Drive, Fostoria, died at 2:32 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2000, in Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born Dec. 4, 1920, in Harrisburg, Ill., to Frank and Lydia (Conover) Wilgus. On June 2, 1939, in West Frankfort, Ill., she married James V. Cook, who survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: two sons, Alan B. and Alvin B. Cook, both of Columbus; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Carolyn J.) McMaster of Perrysburg; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A sister, Mary Jane Rice, and a grandchild also are deceased.

Mrs. Cook, a homemaker, was a member of the Seymour, Ind., First Church of the Nazarene; former member of the Columbus First Church of the Nazarene and attended the Fostoria First Church of the Nazarene.

She also was a member of the Nazarene World Missionary, served as a Sunday School teacher and sang in the church choir for many years.

A 1938 graduate of Harrisburg, Ill., High School, she also was a soloist and sang with her husband in many churches throughout the country.

She worked as a seamstress.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the First Church of the Nazarene, Fostoria, with the Rev. Russell Gumm officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Columbus, where the Rev. Ernest Rhoads will conduct an interment service.

Visitation will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Memorials may be made to any of the churches she attended or belonged to.

The Rev. Dr. William A. Janson Jr.
Former Tiffin First English Lutheran pastor

The Rev. Dr. William A. Janson Jr., 77, of 314 Newport Lane, Phoenixville, Pa., died Thursday evening, April 13, 2000, at his residence.

He was born in Oberlin, Pa., to the Rev. William A. and Helen (Brehm) Janson. His wife, Dr. Margaret "Margie" (Gemmill) Janson survives in Phoenixville.

Survivors also include: a daughter, Mrs. William (Sandra) Spengel of Chester Springs, Pa.; a son, William A. Janson III of Horsham, Pa.; five grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Meerbach of Estero, Fla.

Dr. Janson, a graduate of William Penn High School, York, Pa., received his bachelor of arts degree from Susquehanna University; a bachelor of divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, Pa.; and a master's degree and doctorate in Christian education from Union Seminary and Teachers College at Colombia University.

The Jansons were residents of Estero and Cape Coral, Fla. ,for 14 years before recently locating to Phoenixville..

He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and he and his wife volunteered as ticket takers for the Grapefruit League.

He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Phoenixville.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Phoenixville. Burial will be private in the Augustus Lutheran Church Cemetery, Trappe, Pa.

Visitation will be 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will take place at 7 p.m. May 10 in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Main Street and Valley Forge Road, Lansdale, Pa.
