Dorothea VanCamp died at 2:40 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2001, at Akron General Medical Center. Arrangements are pending with the Turner-Engle Funeral Home in Tiffin.

Margaret E. Powell
Fostoria resident

Margaret E. Powell, 84, of 728 Oaklawn Ave., died Monday, May 28, 2001, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 19, 1916, in Fostoria, to Ross and Dama (Shrider) Kooken. On May 18, 1941, in Fostoria, she married Dean Willis Powell. He died March 27, 1994.

Survivors include: two daughters, Gay A. Powell and Susan E. Powell, both of Fostoria; and two sisters, Marilyn Kooken of Tiffin, and Marian Kreiss of Bryan.

A son, Danny Powell, also is deceased.

Mrs. Powell graduated from Fostoria High School, was a homemaker, and had been employed at the former Feisel's Grocery in Fostoria. She was a member of The Church of the Brethren in Fostoria.

Services will take place at 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria, and will be officiated by the Rev. Sterling Beasley. Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery.

Visitation is 10-11 a.m., Thursday, prior to services, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.

Norma Jane Myers
Teacher/school psychologist

Norma Jane Myers, 72, of Bascom, died Friday, May 25, 2001, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 27, 1928, in Springfield, MA., to Judge C.C. and Norma (Scott) McKay and both are deceased. She married W. Howard Myers and they divorced. He survives in Prescott, Ariz.

Survivors also include: a son, Carl F. Myers of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Ginnie Stidham of Willard; and five grandchildren.

A brother, David McKay, is deceased.

Mrs. Myers was a graduate of Fostoria High School and attended Heidelberg College. She received an undergraduate degree in education as well as master's degrees in remedial reading and school psychology from Bowling Green State University.

She was a teacher and school psychologist for more than 40 years, working at St. Joseph's High School in Fremont 1988-1999, the Fremont School District from 1963-1988, and Port Clinton School District from 1957-1963. She continued a private practice in psychology until her death. She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Fostoria.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m., Thursday, at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria.

There will be no visitation.

Ruthann McEntire-Hollin
Bendix retiree of Fostoria

Ruthann McEntire-Hollin, 71, of Nat-Lin Drive, in Fostoria, died at 5:10 a.m., Sunday, May 27, 2001, in Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born Aug. 31, 1929, in Perry Township., Wood County, to Edgar and Leona (Brobst) Layton, and both are deceased. On Sept. 22, 1945, in Bowling Green, she married Chancie McEntire. He died Nov. 1, 1992. On June 6, 1997, in Fostoria, she married Green Hollin, and he survives in Fostoria.

Survivors also include: a son, Terry McEntire of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Sandy) Berrier of Fostoria; a brother, Chester Layton of Newark, Ohio; two sisters, Ellen Will of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jean Strong of Risingsun; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Jess and Paul Layton, and two sisters, Dorothy Layton and Helen Shaffer, are deceased.

Mrs. McEntire-Hollin retired as an assembler in 1978 from Bendix, having more than 30 years of service. She was a member of Dillon Road Baptist Church in Fostoria, the Fostoria Moose Lodge, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and the Fostoria Garden Club.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Minton officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens near Arcadia.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with a Women of the Moose Memorial Service at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Dillon Road Baptist Church in Fostoria.

Joanne Wolfe
Upper Sandusky resident

Joanne Wolfe, 56, of 4915 CR 47, died at 11:27 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2001, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

She was born Jan. 1, 1945, in Mifflin Township, Wyandot County, to Clarence and Dorothy L. (Van Orsdall) Young, and both are deceased. On May 24, 1964, in Salem United Methodist Church in Wyandot County, she married David D. Wolfe, and he survives.

Survivors also include: two sons, Kevin D. Wolfe of Gahanna and Gary A. Wolfe, of Upper Sandusky; a brother, H. Dale Young of Forest; and three granddaughters.

A brother, Donald L. Young, is deceased.

Mrs. Young, a graduate of Upper Sandusky High School in 1963, was a homemaker, and assisted on the family farm operations. She was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Pitt Township, Wyandot County, where she was a member of the choir, Sunday School treasurer and financial treasurer. She was a former treasurer of the Wyandot County Fair and enjoyed playing cards, traveling, shopping, NASCAR races and camping.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. The Rev. Adrian-Sunday, Don Corbin, and Phil and Barbara Laucks will officiate services. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Inez P. Heistand
Mother of Upper Sandusky resident

Inez P. Heistand, 88, formerly of rural Nevada, died at 11:55 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2001 at the Wyandot County Home in Upper Sandusky where she had resided for the past few years.

She was born Oct. 3, 1912, in Crawford County, to Ray and Hattie (Mulencopfh) Crissinger. On June 4, 1932, in Greenup, Ky., she married Carl A. Heistand, and he died Oct. 24, 1987.

Survivors include: two daughters, Jean Byrd of Upper Sandusky, and Mrs. Gilbert (Joyce) Murphy of Nevada, Ohio; five grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Raymond and Homer Crissinger, and three sisters, Velma Roth, Wilma Bliss and Helen English, are deceased.

Mrs. Heistand graduated from Eden School, was a life member of the Salem United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Farm Bureau North East #9, member and past president of the Hospital Guild of Wyandot Memorial, member of the Eden Extension Homemakers and a 4-H leader for many years.

She enjoyed sewing, flower and vegetable gardening, cooking, playing cards and traveling with her husband to California and Florida.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lucas Funeral Home in Nevada, Ohio, with the Rev. Sonja Bender officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home,
