King day celebration a hit

The organizers of the Martin Luther King Jr. day celebration should be commended for a job well done.

Paul Lawrence Dunbar, Herbert Woodward Martin and Deborah Ellen Stokes spoke to more than 100 people at the annual celebration this week.

Local elementary schools conducted an essay contest and a former Cleveland police chief spoke at Tiffin University.

The events provided an ample opportunity for residents to honor King and learn more about his mission.

Firefighters work together to save foundry

Tiffin, Fostoria and Clinton firefighters worked together this week to save a portion of Tiffin Foundry from a fire and to protect the community.

It is great to see three communities working together in a time of disaster.

Their hard work helped Tiffin Foundry's plant from being damaged by the blaze and saved records from the office.

Benefits offer community a chance to help

Tip of the hat to the local friends and organizers of benefits recently for the families of Mark Schock and Matthew T.A. Conley.

The organizers not only give up their time to help others, but they also provide the community a chance to help. By hosting a fund-raiser, friends, family and even strangers have a chance to participate and help out others in need.

It's benefits and organizers like these that make our community a fine place to live.
