Soccer players work for goalCongratulations to the Columbian soccer players and their parents for working to raise more than $1,000 for the Tiffin Stadium Fund. The team worked to help Betty Jane Center's Work Connections meet its demand of more than 250,000 boxes for the Heinz Corp. It is great to see students, as well as parents, get involved in supporting a good cause. Top of PageStamp to help raise awarenessTip of the hat to the U.S. Postal Service for choosing to produce the ''Hospice Care'' commemorative stamp. The stamp is designed to increase awareness of hospice services available for the terminally ill across the nation. Locally, Rebecca Shank of Community Hospice Care hopes to not only increase awareness, but also generate funding by working out agreements with local businesses for donations when customers use the stamp. All around, the project is a big plus for the community. Top of PageFostoria police officer retiresCongratulations to Fostoria Police Capt. Joel Hutchins for serving the Fostoria community for the past 25 years. Hutchins first joined the force in 1974. During his time, he served as patrol officer, detective and sergeant before becoming a captain in 1991. Hutchins worked hard to help the community in many ways, including overseeing the selection of the new police computer system to better serve the city and the department.
