![]() Residents of Tiffin can help in review The citizens of Tiffin should appreciate the civic dedication of the nine fellow residents who are reviewing the city's charter. The 10-year review is not exactly scintillating work. But the job is one that allows the city to fine-tune the document under which it operates. As the Charter Review Commission moves along with its task as the year progresses, there will be ample opportunity for other citizens to give their reasons for changing portions of the charter or for keeping them the same. The members of the commission will listen to comments from private citizens and those involved in city government as they review the document. The charter changes the commission recommends then go to the city council. The council then determines, by two-thirds vote, if the proposals are to go on the ballot. City residents will decide the fate of the proposals at November 2001 election. Duane Applequist, John Bing, Tom Distel, Jim Fruth, Joe Granata, Steven Lepard, Ralph Monaco, Richard Wiggins and Bill Wickham will be at work this year seeking to fine-tune the charter. Tiffin residents should appreciate their commitment and help the process with opinions that could help shape improvements to the charter.
