Offer us packaged, reasonable services

Somewhere along the high-tech road, a company (do we have to say "service provider?") will package services for a moderate price.

Each day seems to bring new vendors of long-distance service, Internet access, cellular phone service and television signals.

But too often they all seem to be going in different directions. Even when one company offers two services, the prices are separate ... and high.

The day is approaching when the emerging and merging companies will be able to offer all four.

Let us hope that there is actual competition at that point, so there are incentives for them to offer lower prices on bundled services.

Wouldn't it be lovely to be able to get one reasonable bill for long distance, cell phone, Internet access and TV signal?

The company that does it first will find itself pulling in legions of new customers.

The sad reality is that it may happen in metropolitan areas years before it reaches Seneca County and environs.
