Successes speak well of selection for United Way leader Pat DeMonte has led the Seneca County Area Transportation organization through a series of successes. That's why her selection to direct the activities of the Tiffin-Seneca United Way will be welcome news to those who support the organization and the work of its member agencies. (It also leaves those who depend on rides from SCAT and who support its work the tough job of finding a replacement for her there.) DeMonte has demonstrated an ability to pull together a variety of resources to make SCAT work, and to inspire cooperation among individuals and organizations to pursue a common goal. What better job description could there be for an executive director of a United Way? As DeMonte noted upon being interviewed after the announcement of her selection, she won't have time to contemplate the job before getting busy in it. United Way campaign season is here. We wish the new director well as she joins the campaign leaders, the board of directors and the hundreds of volunteers in tackling a fund-raising task that is important to the community and its residents.
