Brakeall winds down career

Tip of the hat to Mary Jane Brakeall of Attica. Brakeall retired from the Seneca East School District treasurer position after six years of service.

Brakeall has been involved in education for years and has served the public well.

Even though she has officially retired, Brakeall continues to help train new treasurer, Laura Brickner.

Congratulations to Brakeall for her years of dedicated service to the community.

Local businesses help freshmen

Congratulations to the local businesses who allowed Calvert High School freshmen to tour the facilities as part of Seneca Area Career System's program, "A Look to the Future.''

The program, with the help of the businesses, gives students an inside look at business to better prepare them to make career choices in the future.

At a time when most businesses are booming, it's great to see local companies taking time out for the children of the future.

Center and students work together

Tip of the hat to the Earth Literacy Center and the Sentinel students for working together to install a boardwalk over a wetland at the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center.

The project is allowing the students to learn new skills and at the same time the boardwalk will be a valuable asset to the community to view the wetland.

This is a prime example of cooperation at its finest.
