Scope of awards raises questions

No originality is being claimed in this question.

It is simply a repeat of what we've heard being asked. In question is why honors went to only two entities involved in the sewer/annexation agreement among Tiffin, Seneca County and the townships of Hopewell, Clinton and Eden.

Partnership in Development Awards were given Tuesday night by the Seneca Industrial and Economic Development Corp. to the City of Tiffin and the Seneca County Commissioners.

The city and county are part of the SIEDC efforts, and that might explain why the awards were limited to them.

But with the townships playing a crucial role in the negotiations and compromises that led to the important agreement, it seems odd that their work was not recognized.

County Commissioner Jeff Wagner, in accepting the county's award, noted that it should be shared with the townships.

He's right.
