Schedule crucial 10 minutes Tuesday Tuesday once again will present an opportunity for you to play a role in the democratic process. Ballot issues of all sorts will be decided and candidates will be selected to fill offices. Any registered voter would be confronted with important choices if he or she went to the polls. As you make your plans for the week ahead, it would be in your interest to plan a time between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to vote. The polling places are listed at the end of the League of Women Voters voter guide in this section today. They also will be published in Monday's Advertiser-Tribune. Staying home Tuesday means you would be allowing others to make decisions about such things as: * A new school in New Riegel, * Who will be overseeing necessary improvements to Tiffin's sewers, * Financing that could determine the future of the Lakota school district, * Which people will be deciding how your children or grandchildren are educated, * If services for Seneca County seniors citizens will be funded properly, * Who will determine how your township road will be plowed, * Whether development of a countywide park system will be supported by residents, and * Many other issues and contests. The outcomes will affect people's lives, jobs and futures. The trip to the polls &emdash; a 10-minute interlude in an already busy day &emdash; in most cases will be the most important 10 minutes of that day. Take the time to take part.
