History and fun really can be mixed We don't live in a humorless society. There was evidence Saturday that we don't always take ourselves too seriously. It came in the form of the reburial of Baby Ginter, a dog first laid to rest in 1932. Responding to the hard work of Lisa Swickard and Tricia Valentine in setting up the event, a number of people responded in order to make the tongue-in-cheek event as eccentric as Ginter's owner, the late Frank S. Callahan. The Ginter's child-size bronze and copper casket now has a new resting place of distinction. And the folks in this community know a little more of the story of one of its "characters" of days past. History can be fun, as the re-enactors demonstrated Saturday.
