Hats Off

School of Op takes a new approach

Tip of the hat to the officials at the Seneca County School of Opportunity Center.

Officials have decided to take a new approach which is to put the concerns and wishes of the clients, parents and guardians foremost in the consideration of the clients' future. In the past officials have relied on the professionals suggestions.

The School of Op leaders should be commended for taking a more personal approach that will hopefully benefit everyone involved.

Anti-smoking programs offered

The hard work of those who organized the variety of anti-smoking programs for the Great American Smokeout should be commended.

There were a variety of programs in the schools and in the community offering not only tips on quitting, but showing the hard facts of reality of what smoking can do to a person's life.

As the amount of teens smoking increases about 3,000 daily in the nation, it is great to see so many organizations get involved in informing the public.

Anway honored as director

Steve Anway, transportation director for the Tiffin City Schools district, was named the Outstanding Transportation Director of the Year.

Anway's work on railway safety, his communication with students and parents regarding bus safety and his work on the Parent-Teacher Community Information Center.

It is great to see such a hard working employee recognized for his efforts.
