TU, Findlay split

FINDLAY -- Emily Renaud tossed a 3-0 shutout at Findlay for Tiffin University's softball team before Findlay took the second game, 5-4, to salvage a split.

Renaud threw a complete game five-hitter for the Dragons (5-5). She struck out three and walked one. Michelle Slark started the second game and took the loss, going 2 1/3 innings. Renaud threw the rest of the second game.

Offensively, Tiffany Lamp was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a triple in the opener, and Mandy Baldauf was 2-for-3 with a run and a pair of doubles. Erica McGee doubled and scored a run, and Christy Prast hit an RBI single.

Kate Siroky had two hits and an RBI in the second game, and Missy Smith doubled and a scored a run.

"It was a very good day," said Tiffin University coach Ron Schumacher. "We committed four errors in one inning. We just weren't getting to the ball. We played a good team, and so I feel real good about winning the first game."

The Dragons are at Walsh Tuesday.
