Seneca East girls run away with second at Classique
VERSAILLES &emdash; First place finishes by the 4 x 200 relay team and Briana Shook in the 3200 powered Seneca East to a second place team finish in the Division II category of the Versailles Lady Tiger Classique.
Shook set a meet record in the 3200, crossing the line in 11:40.5. Niki Hines (11:44.7) placed second.
The 4 x 200 team of Mandy Everhart, Megan Karr, Jamie Herr and Sarah Reiter took home the top prize in 1:57.9, beating St. Henry by two seconds.
Versailles scored 161 points to win it's own meet, Seneca East had 103 and St. Henry (94). Rounding out the field were Anna (41), Houston (33), Arcanum (33), Parkway (28) and Allen East (3). Minster won the Division III meet and Vandalia Butler grabbed the Division I prize.
In addition to Hines in the 3200, the Tigers recorded five other second place finishes. The 4 x 800 relay (Sarah Ruffing, Reiter, Margo Phillips, Stephanie Phillips) finished in 11:12.1, second behind Versailles.
Ruffing was second in the 400 with a time of 1:06.61, and Brandi Hines picked up a second place finish in the 800 (2:37.9). Herr was runner-up in the 200 in 28.2 and the 100 in 13.6.
Thirds went to Everhart in the 300 hurdles (53.0), Stephanie Phillips in the 1600 (5:57.4), Megan Karr in the 100 (13.7) and the 4 x 400 relay team (Ruffing, Reiter, Brandi Hines, Jenny Studer) in 4:39.8.
