TC tennis now 0-2

The team of Eric Lint and Kenny Schank posted the lone victory for Columbian as the Tornadoes dropped a 4-1 decision to Marion Harding Tuesday.

It was the season opener for the Presidents while Columbian's record fell to 0-2.

Lint and Schank combined for a 7-5, 6-4 win over Dustin Mauk and John Scharer at first doubles. Marion's Alex Thompson and Rob Howard downed Sam Moyer and Danny Thompson 6-1, 6-1.

The Presidents swept singles play as Sean Williamson topped Kevin Lofton 6-0, 6-0. Ryan Valentine beat Jim Dodok 6-4, 6-2, and Mark Finney stopped Craig Seaborn 7-5, 6-4.

"We played much better than last night (loss to Fremont Ross)," coach John Jones said. "We were in most of the matches today and we showed some improvement, which is what you're looking for at this time."

Columbian hosts Port Clinton Thursday.
