"The starters did their jobs, and because of that we got a lot of kids in the game tonight, which is always good to see. We played 17 kids. This was originally scheduled as a doubleheader, and we still haven't played that many games, so I'm glad we could get this one in."

He hit his locations and got us out when he needed to, and defensively Willard made some great plays. They just played an exceptional defensive game, and we didn't get after it like we should have sometimes."
Porter fell to 1-1, despite pitching a complete game. He struck out three and walked two, giving up six hits. Burgette struck out two and walked none.
Dan Lutz hit a solo home run for Columbian (4-8, 3-4 NOL) in the fourth inning to tie the game at 2. The other TC run came in the first, when Jamie Moore reached base on an error, stole second and would come around to score on a ground out.
