Fostoria ends year with loss
FOSTORIA -- Toledo Whitmer's Derek Kozlowski struck out 11 Fostoria hitters, and the Panthers scored five second inning runs en route to a 9-5 win over the Redmen in the season finale for both teams.
Alan Holman took the loss in 1 2/3 innings of work for Fostoria (12-15, 5-7 Great Lakes League). Jason Wagner threw 3 1/3 innings in relief, and Cory Maag finished up.
Holman homered and doubled for Fostoria, and Tony Holman (two RBIs) and Ryan Headley doubled.
Maag had a pair of singles and scored a run, and Marshall Headley had a run, a hit and an RBI. Dane Bringman drove in a run and Michael Tucker scored one.
Kozlowski had two hits and two RBIs for Whitmer, which finished at 15-13 overall and 6-6 in the GLL. Rob Linhurst laced a two-run doubled, and Mike Harris added a two-bagger.
Others with two hits for Whitmer were Dan Vincent, Andy Phillips and Eric Herman.
