Andrew Kraut smacked three hits and Michael Grothaus (single) was the winning pitcher as Calvert Blue nipped Hopewell I, 12-11. Aaron Mass had two hits for the winners and Kyle Mack, Andy Haines and Keith Swartz pitched in singles. For Hopewell, Nick Birch (double) had three hits and Matt Brickner and Curt Hess two apiece. Tim Brickner, Andy Wise, Josh Swander, Corey Lang and Aaron Schriener all singled.
* Calvert White scored eight runs in the sixth to finish off Green Springs by a 15-4 count. Winning pitcher Luke Florence, Brad Walliser and Tim DeRose all had two singles for Calvert. Brandon Somers doubled, while Thomas Hayes, Joe Reamer, Ryan Kommick and Aaron Coffman added singles. No names were reported for Green Springs.
* Cody Hufford cracked a triple and two singles as Clinton II defeated Gibsonburg, 8-6. Justin Reinbolt slapped a pair of singles, while Frank Perna, Greg Kiser, Nick Bishop, and Brett O'Connor hit one each. No first names were reported for Gibsonburg.
* Jon Weininger (double), Matt Diem and David Wahl had three hits each as Clinton I got past Seneca East Orange, 18-12. Brett Kuhn had two singles, while Zach Peiffer, Trent Shoemaker, Greg Wilhelm and Tony Heminger got one each. No names were reported for Seneca East.
* Bloomville downed Mohawk Red, 13-12, in extra innings. Matt Watson led Bloomville with two doubles and a single, while Justin Lutz and Tyson Boone each added three singles. Matt Frankart singled twice while Tim Frisch and Brandon Frankart each hit a single. Joe Peck led Mohawk with three doubles and a single, while Wes Sharp doubled twice and singled. Ryan Hossler and Dustin Sowers each hit a double and a single. Jason Florence was the winning pitcher.
* Clinton II defeated the Tiffin Wildcats, 14-7. Frank Perna hit the Wildcats for two doubles and a single. Tim Focht followed with a double and two singles, while Derrick Reinhart had three hits. Collecting two singles apiece were Ben Porter and Greg Kiser. Cody Hufford, Travis Persinger, Andy Crerar and Nick Bishop pitched in one hit apiece. Porter, Josh Coger, Richard Alford and Matt Weber all pitched for the winners.
Tiffin Lightning
The Lightning knocked off the Sylvania Mavericks, 11-5, in 14 innings behind four hits from Matt Diem and three from Alan Hoke. Dan Reamer, Tod Miner and Jeremy Ardner contributed two hits each, while John Elchert, Brandon Bond and Erik Huss had one apiece. Bond, Huss, Jon Weininger and Hoke all pitched. The Lightning are now 10-6.
National Machinery
The Orioles grabbed a 5-1 lead in the fourth, then held off the White Sox for a 5-4 win, their first of the season. Austin Arnold and Drew Krupp each slugged a double and single for the O's. Winning pitcher Craig Genet doubled, while Matthew Brodman and Chrissy Tiell contributed singles. For the White Sox, Joy Flechtner tripled and Todd Tobolt doubled. Derek Frankart, Brett Adkins, Jayme Carper, Chelsea Adkins and Kaleb Brown all had singles.
* The Reds got a double and two singles from Adam Hohman as they disposed of the Indians, 14-6. Steve Thom (double), Jordan Reinhart and Melia Reinhart clubbed two hits each. Jacob Lucius added a double. Dustin Lucius paced the Indians with a double and single. Dayne Williams doubled and Ben Huffman singled.
D League
American Electric Power pushed across a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to post a 6-5 victory over Fort Ball. Dave Dotson (double, triple) had three hits for AEP, while Dan Zirger smashed a double. Dustie Krupp, Aaron Webb and Cory Allerding had singles. Brian Hunt doubled and singled for Fort Ball. Kevin Layer doubled and Adam Holman, Keshea Baker and Garrett Kraus had singles.
* Rotary used a six-run second inning as a springboard to an 11-10 victory over American Standard. Thomas Fox (double) cracked three hits for Rotary, while winning pitcher Brady Decker doubled twice. Brittany Rodriguez had two hits and Aaron Leis had a single. Justin Carter and Brandan Haman had two hits for American Standard, while Cory Cook doubled. Josh Allen and Nathan Mathis hit singles. Standard struck back to beat Rotary on a one-hitter by Cory Conley, 7-0. Derek Burns had two hits for Standard, while Cook, John Mathson and Mathis had singles. Leis had Rotary's lone hit.
* Elks got 19 hits, including five from Nick Mullenex, in a 12-8 win over Old Fort Bank. Belting two hits each for the winners were Luke Welly (double), Josh Snyder, winning pitcher Nick Williams, Rick Hendrick and Brady Bigley. Ken Shade (double) and Mike Laigna also contributed hits. Caleb Saad (double), Mitch Distel and Parker Woods each got two hits to pace Old Fort Bank. Getting one each were J.R. McDole, Mike Runion and Cory Kummerer.
Babe Ruth
V.F.W. was outhit 16-9, but made the most of their hits in 15-14 nipping of Rush Business Forms. Chris Sexton paced V.F.W. at the plate with a double and two singles. Winning pitcher Dave Meisner and Nate Sexton both doubled and singled, while Richard Chwalik added two singles. Trae Marks and Tyler Young contributed singles. Adam Brown (double) and Chris Hall had three hits for Rush Business Forms. Jay Taylor (double) and Brandon Ardner had two hits each, while Tyler Shuff, Adam Haman, Matt Schetter and Ryan Woods got one each.
E League
Keith Bernard had the winning RBI as the Royals got past the Reds 3-2. Bernard and Eric Zirger singled for the winners. Joel Ardner cracked a pair of triples for the Reds, with Matt Raufer adding a single.
* The Red Sox scored in every inning, including 11 runs in the fourth, as they overwhelmed the Diamondbacks 21-2. Cody Kidwell and Adam Zahner both singled twice for the Sox. Larry Baker, Vince Pardi, Damien Sisco, Kris Moore and Nate Beecher all singled. Chris Mendoza was the winning pitcher. Chris Hoyda and Jamison Brickner each two singles for the Diamondbacks.
* Zach Seislove had seven RBIs, and the Dodgers held the Braves to one hit, as they coasted to a 16-1 win. Seislove, who was also the winning pitcher, crushed a pair of homers, tripled and singled. Austin Mass belted a double and singled twice, while Kyle Snavely doubled and singled. Robert Garber-Zito tripled, with Josh Feasel and Cory Sigler adding singles. Ben Gottnald accounted for the Braves' lone hit with and RBI double.
* The Mets clubbed 12 hits as they downed the Cardinals, 9-7. Ryan Dell cracked a pair of triples and a single, while winning pitcher Brandin Bursa slammed two doubles and a single. Patrick Woodman (triple, double) and Derick Mestrez had two hits each, while Tyler Wise doubled and Aaron Smith singled. Justin Fuller, Frank Eachus and Grant Kenema all hit two singles for the Cardinals. Austin Banks and Kendall Sours contributed singles.
Blanchard Valley
The Eagles improved to 8-1 with a 4-3 win in nine innings over Findlay Orthopedic. Mike Distel had three singles and the game-winning RBI. Cory Hess had two one-baggers, while Adam Reinhart doubled. Getting singles were Dan Breyman, Ryan Keefe, Dustin Frank and Ben Stover. Anthony Theis was the winning pitcher.
Tiffin Fastpitch
Erin Mack clubbed a homer and a single and Amber Schwochow pitched three-hit ball in Stansanco's 10-6 win over Amvets/Old Fort. Ashley Frankart doubled and singled for Stansanco and Amanda Margraf, Ericka Kastner, Michelle Clouse, Deidra Reinhart and Michelle Broose all singled. Kristie Culver, Faith Martin and Mary Conley had the Amvets/Old Fort hits.
* Moose/Eagles got four runs each in the third in fourth innings to break a 2-2 tie and cruise to a 10-3 win over Tiffin Hardware. The winners got two singles each from Marliesa Zimmerman, Megan Marinis, and winning pitcher Carissa Carpenter. Amy Fox, Emily Graham, Laura Frontz also singled. Kristen Seitz and Amanda Snyder got three singles each to lead Tiffin Hardware. Jenna Lucius had two one-baggers, while Sara Theis and Heather Martin got one each.
* Alicia Siebenaller drove in the winning run in the eighth inning as Amvets/Old Fort Bank topped Ameriwood/National Machinery 4-3. Alex Frank tripled twice and doubled twice to help Elks improve to 7-0 with a 25-16 win over Eagles. Mary Kate Hayes had three hits for Elks, while Amanda Ritzler (double) Elizabeth Kelbley and Ashley Martorana had two hits each. Sara Wilson homered and Samantha Ritzler contributed a single. Kelli Miller doubled for Eagles and Stephanie Smith and Ashley Kuzma had singles.
* Sara Wilson slammed a triple and single as Division I clipped Division II in the Ponytail All-Star Game 20-19. Lindsay Kobelt and Stephanie Smith both had two singles, with Lindsay Allen and Andrea Lucius getting one each. Stephanie Thom clubbed three singles for Division II. Allison Dore doubled, and Trina Brown, Ashley Rowe, Emily Hoepf, Michelle Frey, Jena Hackenberg and Jamie McDole all singled.
San-Sen-Wyan
Calvert broke a 5-5 tie with three runs in the fifth to get past Attica, 8-5. Amanda Ranieri singled twice for the winners, with Carissa Carpenter and Sara Elchert getting one each. Calvert improves to 4-0 with the win. No names were reported for Attica.
* Bloomville crushed Republic I, 19-4. Megan Florence led Bloomville with a double and two singles. Chelsea Hushour smacked two doubles while Tashawa Yonts hit a triple and a single. Brittany Sheward doubled and singled with Megan Collins and Emily Zellers each adding two singles. Ashley Stansbery tripled while Whitney Collins, Jamie Wright and Brittany Cole each added a single.
