Grand slam helps Bloomville to win
BASEBALL
Seneca County Pony League
A Division
Josh Perkins smacked a grand slam and Jason Florence added a three-run poke to lift Bloomville to a 10-9 win over Old Fort. Justin Lutz lined two singles, Troy Stockmaster doubled and Tim Frisch and Garrett Kurk each singled for Bloomville. Lutz and Florence also teamed up for the pitching win. Old Fort got a double and single from Nick Mellott. Zach Magers singled twice and Paul Roberts and Greg Fortney each hit a single.
* Mohawk Red kept its unbeaten streak alive with a 9-2 win over Calvert Blue. Wes Sharp homered and singled and Brandt Weininger hit three singles to help Mohawk move to 11-0. David Peck singled and doubled, Bill Kopf had a pair of singles and Joe Peck, Ryan Hossler and winning pitcher Travis Danner each singled. Calvert got a double from Zach Parente and a single apiece from Peter Brodman, Dan Levis, Eric Schwartz, Andy Haines, Todd Hartman and Nick Lay.
Tiffin E League
Brady Decker and Troy Keller combined to one-hit the Reds in a 2-1 Orioles win. Brandon Hade's single was the only hit for the Reds. Keller smashed a solo homer and drove in another run to give his team the win in a game with only four hits. Ben Dickerson doubled and Brandon Haman had a single for the Orioles.
* Aaron Rider, Josh Smith and Zach Hefner all homered as the Indians routed the Athletics 18-0. Rider added two singles while Smith and Hefner each singled once. Anthony Brown and Jacob Turner both doubled while Aaron Gassner, Joe Brickner and Zach Gase all singled. Gassner and Hefner also teamed up for 10 strikeouts while surrendering just two doubles and a single.
Babe Ruth League
Prep Division
Jacob Rider tossed a three-hitter and the Eagles unleashed a nine-hit assault in a 14-9 win over Paper & Ink Friday. Jeremy Morgan led the winners with a double and two singles to drive in three runs while Todd Miller also had a single and three RBIs, Cory Hess had a double and two RBIs, Brant Gibson had a single and drove in two runs, Anthony Evers had a double and RBI, Jonathan Seeberger had a single and RBI, Zac Ball singled and both Richie Cline and Danny Jordan drove in one run. Ryan Page had a double and single to drive in three runs for Paper & Ink while Nick Bragg had a double and three RBIs and the trio of Justin Baker, David Knowles and Jim Picciuto each drove in one run.
SOFTBALL
Tiffin Fastpitch
Eagles' Anna Fretz fanned 14, but had to rely on a three-run fifth inning and tight defense to come away with a 5-4 come-from-behind victory over Moose. Moose led 3-2 after plating a pair in the bottom of the fourth, only to see Eagles retake the lead in the fifth. Moose narrowed the gap to 5-4 with a run in the bottom of the fifth, but Eagles' defense slammed the door after that to get the win. Sara Seary doubled and tripled for Eagles while Nicki Ward had a double and single and Jenny Gallipeau singled. Moose was led by Erin Brenamen's double and two singles. Emily Graham ripped two singles and Heather Tusing, Jamie Painter and Jenny Watson all had a single.
* Moose withstood a sixth-inning rally to escape with a 13-11 win against AMVETS. AMVETS trailed 13-6 going into the bottom of the sixth, but plated five runs to close the gap before being stopped by Moose. Amy Fox and Natasha Carpenter both laced a triple and single for Moose while Erin Brenamen and Ashley Hepp each singled twice. Emily Graham and winning pitcher Carissa Carpenter each had a single. Krista Miller led AMVETS with a pair of singles. Lauren Drew, Faith Martin, Sam Sauber, Tessa Miller, Jooi Graham, Marissa Conley and Kaila Dunn all had a single.
Tiffin Ponytail
VFW woke up the offense for its 18-10 victory against Marvins. Six VFW players had multi-hit performances as the team racked up 17 hits. Stefanie Thom singled three times, Jessica Shore had a double and single and Amber Headrick and Katie Lonsway and Bethany Yager each had two singles. Emily Lonsway and Alyssa Weber both doubled and VFW got a single apiece from Kari Hayda, Erin Shaffer, Ashley Trautman and Jennifer Spader. Marvins got three singles from Holly Murphy and two singles and a double from Kate Culver. Frankie Aiello, Allyson Autullo and Cassie Boyer all had two singles and Brianne Schank added another single.

Junior League
Danielle Molineaux, Kayla Gadberry and Alex Kirchner each had two hits as Moose overpowered United Insurance 26-6. Molineaux lined a single and double while Gadberry and Kirchner both had two singles. Amber Risner added a triple and Moose got a single each from Marissa Bigley, Tasha Welly and Lindsey Droll. United tallied five singles, one each from Rebecca Coil, Marissa Cox, Lauren Meisner, Erika Welker and Nicole Weininger.
CORRECTION: Due to incorrect information supplied to the Advertiser-Tribune, three Viewpoint Graphics players were not credited with the proper number of hits in Thursday's win over Eagles in Ponytail Softball. Merissa Conley had a grand slam, a triple and a double, while Shauna New and Ashley Hoepf each had two singles.

Junior Division
Bloomville I downed Old Fort II in a 21-19 slugfest. Winning pitcher Skyla Sims had five hits including a triple and double while Rachel Kirgis had a double and two singles, Aliceon Boone, Jessica Summers and Jamie Wright each had three singles, Megan Florence doubled and added a single, Olivia Deikman singled twice and Brittany Cole added a base hit. Old Fort got a home run from Shelby Conn while Shannon Nye and Jacklynn Sanford each had a double and two singles, Morgan Magers and Lindsay Hoffert had a double and single, Emily Cleveland and Amy Benz each singled twice and Laura Danbar added a base hit.
