Calvert coach to head coach East All-Stars
Calvert's Toby Hammond, the Division VI Ohio Coach of the Year last season, has been selected head coach of the East All-Stars for the annual Graff Automall East-West All-Star football game in Fostoria.
The game is scheduled for July 24 at Fostoria's Memorial Stadium.
Hammond will be assisted by Columbian coach Steve Gilbert, Gilbert's son Aaron, who is an assistant at St. Wendelin, along with Calvert assistants Brian Colatruglio and Rick Demith.
The Senecas and Tornadoes will be well-represented on the field as well. Calvert's Todd Iannantuono, Ian Cook, Mike Sacksteder and Chad Elchert, along with Columbian's Nate Houck, Beau Carmon and Greg Pagnard highlight the East roster.
Other area East players include Hopewell-Loudon's Mike Miller and Mark Hoover, Seneca East's Paul Young and Scott Karr, Mohawk's Joe Strausbaugh and Brian Clouse, St. Wendelin's Fred Reinhart, Brad Welly, Tony Arend and Aaron Rouser, Fostoria's Cory Echelberry, Cory Freshour and Greg Fleming, Lakota's Jimmie Ganues, Carey's Nic Boes and Upper Sandusky's Adam Veith and Beau Hahn.
Also playing for the East will be Fremont Ross' Josh Liggins, Zack Frasure, Frank Kaiser and Tyson Liggins, Fremont St. Joseph's Roger Kuns and Adam Jenkins, Gibsonburg's Josh Donnell and Justin Donnell, Clyde's Derek Gerstenberger and Corey Coe and Woodmore's Ben Dickens and David Orceletto.
The West will be led by Findlay coach Cliff Hite, along with Trojan assistants Tony Iriti, Jerry Campbell, Mark Ritzler, Steve Heintzman, Jack Foltz and Chris Ireland.
The West roster includes Arcadia's Brock Colman, North Baltimore's Zack Greene, Findlay's Ryan Hite, Jim Arnold and Ben Farnsworth, Columbus Grove's Jason Stechschulte, Kyle Blankemeyer and Chris Halker, Kenton's Matt McCullough, T. J.
