BASEBALL

Tiffin Babe Ruth

Prep

VFW pounded out four in the first and five more in both the second and third en route to routing Eagles 19-3. Robert Murphy drove in four off two doubles and a single, Jeremy Smith had two singles and three RBI, Trae Marks singled and doubled to drive in two and winning pitcher Dan Reamer had a single and two RBI. Dave Meisner also singled in a run. Eagles got a triple and RBI by Todd Miller and a double and RBI from Zac Ball. Jeremy Morgan and Stephanie Harrold each singled.

 

Seneca County Pony League

Jon Wisebaker drove in two runs off a single and home run to help Bascom run away from Mohawk Black 16-5. Cody Brickner tripled for Bascom, Matt Brickner, Jeremy Feasel and Dereck Smith each had two singles and Shawn Borer rapped a double. Nick Reinhard, Jason Kovach, Nick Birch and Shawn Brickner all singled while Josh Swander and Brandon Egbert took care of Bascom's pitching duties. Bill Hyden led Mohawk with a triple and single while losing pitcher Tommy Hyden doubled. Shawn Tooley, Craig Gors, Robert Goshe and Bill Payne added a single apiece.

 

D League

Thomas Osborne launched a solo homer over the left field wall, lined two singles and picked up the pitching win to guide Old Fort Bank to an 8-7 victory against Napoli Pizza. Dan Omlor added four singles, Mike Grothaus and Danny Hartman each hit two singles and Mitch Distel and Les Lehman both singled. Napoli Pizza was led by Nathan Sexton, who singled twice, doubled and tripled. Ryan Smith tallied three singles and Nick Hoffman added another single.

 

Elks outhit K of C, but still wound up on the short end of a 7-5 game. Aaron McQuistion doubled for K of C while Dave Burton singled. Elks got a double and single from Mike Roberts, a double from Tyler Tracy, two singles from Ryan Cox and a single apiece from Brad Bigley and Mike Latona.

 

E League

The Orioles broke a scoreless tie with four runs in the third en route to downing the Indians 6-1. Aaron Hurd and Cory Kummerer led the charge at both the plate and on mound. Hurd tripled and singled while Kummerer laced two doubles. Parker Woods chipped in a double and Josiah Greenwald singled. Zach Hefner doubled for the Indians. Aaron Gassner, Joe Brickner and Derek Arbogast all singled.

 

A 12-run second helped propel the Dodgers past the Diamondbacks by a 24-2 margin. Kyle Sours belted two homers, a triple and single while Michael Craddolph singled twice and blasted a homer. Josh Feasel ripped three singles, Robert Graber lined a single and triple and Nick Mollenex singled for the Dodgers. The lone Diamondbacks hit was a single by Joel Kirchner.

 

Correction: The June 3 issue of the Advertiser-Tribune inadvertently omitted a triple by Napoli Pizza's Tony Wise in an 8-7 win over AEP. The game occurred June 1.

 

SOFTBALL

Sen-San-Wyan

Bloomville I moved to 7-1 on the year with a 22-6 win over Clinton I. Bloomville pitcher Skyla Simms smacked a home run, a triple and a single while Aliceon Boone doubled and singled. Megan Florence cracked two singles, Brittany Cole doubled and Rachel Kirgis and Ashley Stansberry each singled. Clinton got two singles from Amber Eckleberry, a double and a single from Jessica Lutz and single each from Lauren Tusing, Lauren Smith and Mindy Brickner.

 

Tiffin Fastpitch

Tiffin Hardware scored in every inning on the way to a 17-2 victory against AMVETS. Kerstin Reinhart earned the win.

 

Ponytail

Four Elks players had two hits in a 11-2 win over Phillips Electric. Sarah Wilson, Ashlee Schmeltz, Mary Kate Hayes and Rachel Maiberger each recorded two singles to help Laura Snyder pick up the win. Sarah Elchert added a double and Alex Frank, Mollie Martin and Lindsey Kobelt all singled. Jesse Maiberger lined three singles for Phillips Electric while Michelle Frey, Kristy Maiberger, Jamie McDole and Natilie Fabian each hit a single.
