Old Fort stays unbeaten
BETTSVILLE -- Chad DeMonte fired a pair of birdies on his way to a 38, and Old Fort had three players shoot under 40 and improved to 2-0 with a 158-182 win over Carey at Nature Trails.
Drew Gaietto, Matt Hoke and Caleb Rice all birdied the ninth hole for the Stockaders. Hoke and Gaietto finished with 39s, while Rice shot a 42. Justin Elchert turned in a 48, and Mike Reidmaier shot a 49.
Leading Carey was Jacob Beck, who tied DeMonte for medalist honors at 38. Adam Firestone shot a 46, and Trevor Hackworth finished with a 38. Also on the course for the Blue Devils were Kyle Hunter (50), Ray Lemley (51) and Justin Kear (54). Carey fell to 0-3.
Carey is at home against Hopewell-Loudon today, while Old Fort hosts Elmwood.
Swander lifts H-L past Hornets
BLUFFTON -- Hopewell-Loudon improved to 3-0 in dual matches, topping Cory-Rawson 174-207 at Bluffton Golf Club.
Josh Swander earned medalist honors for the Chieftains, scoring a 41. Aaron Vay and Brandon Egbert carded 44s for the winners. Travis Whipple came up with a 45, Dereck Hess shot a 46 and Danny Ray shot a 47.
"We played some great golf in the first week, and we aren't shooting like that as a team now," Hopewell-Loudon coach Steve Adelsperger said. "I think we can get back in the groove. It's just going to take some more consistent scores from all the guys, and that's going to come along."
Hopewell-Loudon visits Carey today.
Rams outduel Fostoria, Wynford
UPPER SANDUSKY -- Brad Richman of Upper Sandusky shot a 36 for medalist honors in a tri-meet win over Fostoria and Wynford.
The Rams shot 155, while Wynford carded a 172 and Fostoria finished at 195.
Drew Russell led Fostoria's charges with a 45, and Mark Hipsher turned in a 48. Brody Walters shot a 50, Aaron Puckett and Brandon Moran shot 52s and Josh Storrer finished with a 53.
Trevor Bowman (37) and Brad Bowman (38) came in under 40 as well for Upper Sandusky. Eric Pagnard finished with a 44, Keith Boes shot 45 and Scott Boes 47.
Fostoria is at Fremont Country Club for a match with Ross today. Upper Sandusky and Willard are at Bucyrus for an NOL tri-meet.
