Columbian wins NOL outright

UPPER SANDUSKY -- The time has come for Columbian's 20-2 volleyball team to concentrate on the second season after a 15-0, 15-5 hammering of Upper Sandusky locked up the outright Northern Ohio League championship for the Tornadoes Tuesday.

"It's nice to be able to win this, but this is just one of the goals the girls set for themselves at the start of the season," Columbian coach Mindy Myers said. "Now it's time for the new season to begin, and that's what the girls were talking about after the game. It's not time to rest on our laurels. We've accomplished one goal, and now we have to try and reach the others.

"We made it to the district finals last year, which is always a great accomplishment, but the girls want to improve on what they've already done."
