TU bombs Wilberforce, 107-89

DAYTON -- Tiffin University once again lit up the scoreboard, this time topping Wilberforce College 107-89, in an American Mideast Conference basketball game.

''We really ran the floor well in the second half,'' TU coach Dan Brook said after his team improved to 2-1. ''We were up by 30 with six minutes to go and we cleared the bench. We really did a great job defensively. We gave up 50 points in the second half, but that really doesn't show what we did to them. I thought we did a nice job of attacking the basket.''

Five Dragons broke double figures in scoring, led by Josh Martin's 22. Kipp Huntsberger was just two off that total with 20 while Jemal Harris chipped in with 16. Andreas James and Wayne Belcher each had 11 points.

Carson Duncan and Brett Kuron each had seven points. Carey grad Jamie Young had five points and Calvert grad Joshua Miller added four points. Martin led the board attack with 10 while Harris dished out seven assists.

The Dragons were 20-36 from the field in the first half in grabbing a 55-39 lead at the break. The hot hands continued in the second half, as the Dragons connected on 20-37 shots.

Lamont Branch topped Wilberforce with 23 points and six rebounds.
