Calvert boys named Team of the Year

FOSTORIA &emdash; Calvert's boys were rewarded for their 22-3 record and appearance in the regional finals by being named Team of the Year in the area at the Fostoria Boosters All-Star Game.

The girls Team of the Year was Van Buren, and its coach, Rick Longbrake, was named Coach of the Year. The boys Coach of the Year was Tim Murray of Elmwood, whose team made the regionals in Division III.

Seneca East senior guard Kelly King was also a big winner at the All-Star contest, winning the girls 3-Point Shootout. Steve Dagg of Fremont Ross won the dunk contest, the Super Sophomore of the Year was Shannon Thomas of Vanlue, and Player of the Year honors went to Fremont Ross's Reggie Jones on the boys side and Findlay's Jessica Roberts for the girls.
