Baseball
Blanchard Valley
Randy Frederick just couldn't pitch his way to a win, but he did use his bat to give Tiffin AMVETS a 5-4 victory over Lunn Drywall of Findlay in eighth innings. Frederick started the game for Tiffin AMVETS and fanned 12, but was replaced on the mound by Mike Everhart in the eighth inning. But Frederick delivered at the plate in the bottom of the eighth ripping the game-winning RBI single. He finished with two singles. Jeremy Smith added two singles and Ben Collar, Aaron Gannon and Robert Murphy each singled.
Babe Ruth
Moose pushed across two runs in the bottom of the eighth to edge VFW 8-7. Shane Welter topped Moose with two singles and three RBIs while Brent Cartwright had a single and an RBI. Winning pitcher Zac Ball singled and doubled and Justin Baker, Jim Picciuto and Wade Bogard each singled. VFW got two singles and two RBIs from Craig Fell, two singles and an RBI from Chris Sexton, a single and double from Trae Marks, a single and an RBI apiece from Dave Meisner and Nate Sexton and a double from Billy Bell.
Seneca County Pony League
Five Tiffin Wildcats had at least two hits in a 13-2 win over Hopewell I. John Ducsay cracked a double and two singles for the Wildcats, Joey Bish tripled and singled, Curt Cochran hit a double and single and Nick Weber and Aaron McQuistion both singled twice. Tyler Tracy, Matt Snyder and Matt Weber all hit singles to help Josh Coger and Richard Alford team up for the pitching win. Hopewell I got two hits, singles by Andy Wise and Kurt Hess.
D League
American Standard was no-hit, but scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to beat Elks 2-0. Cory Conley tossed a two-hitter to earn the win for American Standard. Luke Welly and Nick Williams each singled for Elks.
E League
The Dodgers erupted for seven runs in the second inning on the way to a 15-5 win over the Athletics. Austin Mass and McKinley Armstrong each drove in three runs for the Dodges, with Mass ripping three singles and a double while Armstrong singled twice and doubled. Robert Graber-Zito singled and tripled to bring in two runs, Cory Sigler singled three times for two RBIs, Josh Feasel singled and doubled to chase in two runs, winning pitcher Aaron Ritzler had two singles and an RBI and Zach Seislove singled. Alex Schaffer smacked a double and triple for the Athletics. Charles Otto doubled twice, Bobby Schaarschmidt singled twice, Matt Bower hit a double and Matt DeRose singled.
* The Tigers jumped out 7-0 in the bottom of the first and never looked back in a 14-1 one-hitter win over the Diamondbacks. Darren Kummerer ripped a triple and double, Jon Hall had a triple and single, Cody Krupp lined three singles, Tony Klepper singled twice, Crew Mizen hit a double and John Chambers and Dan Ranieri both hit a single. Kummerer, Hall and Krupp teamed up for the win.
Softball
Sen-San-Wyan Junior
Emily Zellers, Brittany Sheward and Megan Florence combined to no-hit Attica II in Bloomville's 12-5 victory. Whitney Collins led Bloomville's offense with a home run and two singles. Florence doubled and hit two singles, Zellers and Megan Collins both singled three times, Ashley Stansbery doubled and singled, Chrissy Martin and Jamie Wright each hit two singles, Chelsea Hushour legged out a triple and Sheward singled.
Tiffin Fastpitch
Tatum Hernandez fanned nine to guide Tiffin Hardware to a 9-2 win over AMVETS/Old Fort Bank. Katie Fazekas singled and doubled for Tiffin Hardware, Katie Kobelt lined three singles, Kristin Seitz and Mellissa Garcia hit two singles apiece and Emily Stacy, Hernandez and Jenna Lucius each singled. Samantha Sauber led AMVETS/Old Fort Bank with two singles. Marissa Conley, Shauna New and Alicia Siebenaller all singled.
* Stansanco scored once in the top of the seventh to go up by two before escaping with a 5-4 win over Moose. Moose plated a run in the bottom of the seventh but couldn't tie the game. Amber Schwochow tripled, April Vanover doubled and Amanda Margraf and Michelle Clouse each hit a single to help Erin Mack earn the win. Moose got a double and single each from Clarissa Carpenter and Erin Brenamen. Natasha Carpenter and Emily Graham both singled.
