Baseball

E League

The Reds posted three runs in the sixth inning to eliminate the Royals from the tournament with a 6-3 win. Jake Peacock was the winning pitcher and he starred at the plate by rapping a triple and double. Keith Bernard also tripled for the Reds, with Eric Zirger and Kyle Saxton adding singles. Joel Ardner paced the Royals with a double and two singles. Vincent Grandillo also stroked a pair of singles, and Billy Puesey doubled.

* Chris and Drew Krupp held the Tigers to three hits as the Cubs advanced in the tournament with a 7-2 win. Chris Krupp, Shawn Weber and Robert Swartz (double) had two hits apiece for the Cubs. Mike Ruhlen doubled, and Drew Krupp and Josh Morlock contributed singles. Darren Kummerer lined a double, and Tony Klepper and Jon Hall singled for the Tigers.

D League

Fort Ball scored all eleven of their runs in the bottom of the sixth as they came from behind to slip past Eagles, 11-10, in the tournament. For the winners, Caleb Layer tripled, Brian Hunt and Craig Ardner doubled, and Garrett Krause and Kevin Layer doubled. Ryan Smith, Cody Young and Pat Feasel all ripped doubles for Eagles. Getting singles were Kyle Sours, Justin Young, Mike Hayes and Preston Hook. Eagles took third place, with Fort Ball moving on to tangle with American Standard for the championship.

Babe Ruth League

Tournament Game No. 9

V.F.W. recorded 10 hits as they defeated Rush Business Forms 10-7. Tyler Young bashed two doubles for the winners, and Richard Chwalik and Robert Murphy (double) also had two hits. Winning pitcher Dave Meisner doubled. Chris Sexton, Trae Marks and Jeremy Smith added singles. Adam Haman singled twice for Rush, and Chris Hall and Brandon Risser got one each.

Pony League

Clinton I defeated Seneca East Black 15-10 Tuesday. Jon Weininger, Jeremy Weininger and Matt Diem combined on the mound in the winning effort. Jon Weininger led the offensive charge, blasting a home run and a single. Diem went 4-for-4 with three singles and a double. Zach Peiffer and Trent Shumaker each slugged a double and a single. Chris Snyder, and Greg Wilhelm and Jeremy Weininger had two singles apiece. Travis Dunbar swatted a homer for Seneca East. Matt Lamoreax hit three singles. Brian Heibertshausen and Justin Sherman legged-out doubles. Heibertshausen also had a single, while Tyler Nester and Josh Collins added singles. Clinton I will play Old Fort Wednesday.

Blanchard Valley League

The Tiffin Eagles fell to Van Buren 14-5 in tournament play. Dustin Ritchie had two hits for the Eagles. Getting one each were Anthony Theis, Dan Breyman, Jeff Warner, Ryan Keefe, Dustin Frank and Doug Graham.

Softball

Sen-San-Wyan (B Division)

Calvert knocked the top-seeded team from the tournament as they nipped Carey 7-6. Allison Marchant doubled, while Amanda Somers and Tiffany Bell got singles. Ann Kerschner, Alex Pardi and Somers handled the pitching duties for Calvert.
