Good guys do finish first

Kevin Layer of Fort Ball was the recipient of the 2000 Randie Green Memorial Sportsmanship award. The award is given to a D-League baseball player who has displayed fair play, positive support of teamates, dependability, effort, losing with dignity and having fun. Each team nominated a player and the winner was chosen from the field of nine nominees. Layer received the plaque which he is holding in the photo and a $100 gift certificate to Bair Brothers Sporting Goods. The award was named for Randie Green who coached the Eagles in 1999 and passed away in spring 2000 from a severe illness.
