Lakota captures own gold invitational

FOSTORIA - Lakota senior Trent Tucker shot a 75 and medaled for the second time in two matches this year, and the Raiders outlasted Gibsonburg, Fostoria and Carey to win the Lakota Invitational at Loudon Meadows Golf Club.

Lakota shot 330 to 339 for Gibsonburg and 341 for Fostoria. Carey (345), Bettsville (353) and Seneca East (364) rounded out the top six, and the rest of the field included Old Fort (376), Lake (380), New Riegel (396) and Hopewell-Loudon (406).

Steve Adams shot an 84 and Andy Beaston an 85 to back up Tucker for Lakota. Brad Youngs was right behind with an 86 and Paul Brubaker carded an 87.

Alan Holman's 82 and Max Mendoza's 83 led Fostoria. Michael Durbin (86), Tony Holman (90) and Adam Schwab (95) also played for the Redmen.

Scott Doran shot a round of 83 for Carey and Richard O' Reilly finished with an 84. Finishing the Blue Devil list were Cory Kitzler (86), Tim Barney (92) and Jacob Beck (102).

Bettsville's Nick Baker fired an 83. He was followed by Joe Kizer with an 86, Jon Rollins with an 87, Josh Schumm with a 97 and Derrik Craun with a 99.

Seneca East was paced by Jake Waldock (84) and Brandon Stuckey (89). Leif Fortney shot a 95, Mike Breyman a 96 and Nate Dentinger a 105.

Randy Schlosser shot an 89 and Erik Lynch carded a 91 for Old Fort. Other Stockader golfers were Cliff Cleveland (98), Matt Hoke (98) and Niki Cleveland (121).

Terry Nye was the top man for New Riegel with an 84. Also playing for the Blue Jackets were Aaron Lafontaine (100), Keith Laughlin (104), Brian Hemrick (108) and Jason Humphrey (115).

Kyle Cook's 94 led Hopewell-Loudon, and also on the course for the Chieftains were Aaron Depinet (95), Aaron Vay (99), Lonny Young (118) and Derek Hess (126).
