Tigers rebound

ATTICA -- The Seneca East Tigers got back on the winning track with a 15-7, 15-13 victory over Sandusky St. Mary's.

The Tigers are 10-2 overall and 4-1 in the Midland Athletic League. Their only league loss came against Hopewell-Loudon in their last match.

SE won the first game against St. Mary's, then trailed 13-2 before rallying to win the game and the match.

"We kind of screwed around in the second game," Tiger coach Jennifer Moore said. "I wish we would've came out a little better at the start. Our serve receive was much better than it was against Hopewell-Loudon."

As a team, Seneca East went 51-of-53 serving, with five assists. They knocked down 57-of-60 hitting, with 37 kills. The Tigers handed out 32 assists in the match.

Warriors split pair

PLYMOUTH --Mohawk came away from a trip to Plymouth with one win and one loss.

The Warriors beat host Plymouth in straight sets, 15-13, 15-9, but couldn't handle Wynford who won 14-16, 15-9, 15-11.

"We just can't bring it all together," Mohawk coach Hope Boes said. "We play well at times and at times we shut down. I'm hoping by tournament time we'll bring it all together."

Mohawk's record is 5-9 and 2-3 in the Midland Athletic League.

Leah Tanner and Calli McClain each served 16 points for the Warrior attack. Six of those were aces for McClain. Tanner also led the net defense with eight blocks.

Megan Martin added 15 points and handed out 37 assists. Amber Schwochow led the hitters with 12 kills.

Raiders tame Bobcats

KANSAS -- The Lakota volleyball team made quick work of Bettsville with a 15-4, 15-0 victory.

Megan Stoudinger handed out 11 assists for the Raiders. Maria Lowery led the hitters with five kills. Jamie Ray and Megan Nonnemaker added three kills apiece.

Lowery also served up 10 points.
