![]() Thursday, June 17, 1999 Tiffin Glass show expected to draw from across U.S. The 14th annual show and sale sponsored by the Tiffin Glass Collectors Club will be June 26-27 at the School of Opportunity, 780 E. CR 20. Area dealers will be joined by dealers from Minnesota, North Carolina and Virginia at this show, which yearly attracts collectors from all over the United States. Show and sale hours are: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. June 26 and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. June 27. The $3-admission fee is good for both days. Featured will be glassware that was produced at the Tiffin factory from 1892-1980. In addition to the displays of Tiffin Glass, other quality glassware will be offered for sale. A large selection of books, original company catalogs and brochures and club fund raisers will be available in the club's sales booth. Proceeds from these sales enable the club to continue its preservation efforts. Special educational displays will demonstrate the use of Tiffin Glass stemware and tableware. Highlight of the weekend activities is the Saturday evening banquet and glass auction at T.J. Willie's Restaurant, 738 W. Market St., Westgate Shopping Center. Paid in advance reservations are required. The auction, which will feature many donated pieces of Tiffin Glass and related items, will benefit the Tiffin Glass Museum, which opened November 1998 in downtown Tiffin. D. Thomas O'Connor, editor of the glass periodical, "Glass Collector's Digest," will be the banquet speaker. O'Connor's address will focus on the Swedish influence on Tiffin Glass. The public is invited to attend all activities. The show and sale is in an air-conditioned, handicapped accessible facility with free parking.
