Motorcyclists from Texas to Canada are gathering at the Seneca County Fairground this weekend for the annual Gold Wing Touring Association of Ohio's Buckeye Rally.

The Findlay chapter of the GWTAO is hosting this year's rally.

Jim Trent, head of the GWTAO, said he expected between 450 and 500 of the group's 600 members to attend.

The highlight of the event will be tonight's Parade of Lights, so-called because some motorcyclists have installed up to 500 extra lights on their bikes, including neon and flashing lights.

"It's a way of showing appreciation to the town," said Trent.

"All 500 may not parade," he said, "but it will look like it."

The parade will leave the fairground at dusk, about 9:15 p.m., and spend about 30 minutes circling the town.

The owner of any brand of motorcycle, not just a Honda Gold Wing can join the GWTAO. The group "is for people have a common hobby," said Trent, and the annual rallies are for "hospitality and friendship."
