Judith M. 'Judy' Fox

Judith M. "Judy" Fox, 75, 67 Liberty St., Tiffin, Ohio, died Tuesday Jan. 22, 2002, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio.

She was born Nov. 8, 1926, in Tiffin, to the late Louis and Lucille (Lang) Ranker. Her husband, Wilbur R. Fox, whom she married June 25, 1949, in St. Mary's Church, Tiffin, died Sept. 7, 1995.

Surviving are a son, Richard L. Fox of Tiffin; a son and wife, Roger L. and Jill Fox of Port Clinton, Ohio; daughters, Karen Sue Brickner and Mrs. Robert (Mary Ann) Boehler, both of Tiffin; sisters, Dorothy Ranker and Mariam Bryant, both of Tiffin; two grandchildren, Robert L. Boehler, U.S. Army specialist stationed in Fort Hood, Texas, and Jennifer Ann Boehler of Tiffin. Two brothers also are deceased.

Mrs. Fox had been employed as a server in the school cafeteria at East Junior High School for 27 years.

She also worked at Tiffin Glass House. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. today, Jan. 26, in St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen Schroeder officiating. The Rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m. today at the church. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.

Visitation was 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where a Christian wake service was at 8:45 p.m. Friday.

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care or St. Mary's Church.

Hubert I. Elchert

Hubert I. Elchert, 79, 192 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin, Ohio, died at 2:50 a.m. Friday Jan. 25, 2002, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

He was born Feb. 1, 1922, in New Riegel, Ohio, to the late Henry J. and Eva H. (Welly) Elchert. On April 12, 1947, in St. Aloysius Church, Republic, Ohio, he married Dorothy A. Welter. She died Jan. 23, 2001.

Surviving are a brother, George H. Elchert of New Riegel; a sister, Mrs. Anslem (Agnes) Reinhart of Tiffin; and many nieces and nephews. An infant son, an infant daughter and a brother, Elester Elchert, also are deceased.

Mr. Elchert retired from the State Highway Garage in 1987. He also had worked at Tiffin Glass Company for 17 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, American Legion Post 169, the Moose, the Eagles and held life memberships in the Disabled American Veterans and the AMVETS Post 48. He served his country in the Army during World War II.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday Jan. 28, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, with Father Stephen L. Schroeder officiating. The rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the funeral Mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin, with military rites conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio (419) 447-3113. A wake service will be at 3:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Francis Home, Community Hospice Care or the donor's choice, in care of Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Thomas E. Greer

Thomas E. Greer, 61, of Hernando, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002.

He was born Jan. 16, 1941, in Carey to John and Betty Greer.

Survivors include: his wife, Anita of Hernando, Fla.; two sons, Tim of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Jeff of Tiffin; a daughter, Gina Arsenault of South Bend, Ind.; six grandchildren; two brothers, Jim of Tequesta, Fla., and Joe of Plainville, Mass.; and four sisters, Deanna Phillips, Susanne Walter and Judy Hershman all of Carey, and Mollie Evans of Northville, Mich.

His parents, and a son, Chris, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at Our Lady of Consolation, 315 Clay St., Carey.

Pauline M. Burkett

Pauline M. Burkett, 80, of 124 Douglas St., died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, in her home.

She was born Feb. 19, 1921, in Tiffin to Peter and Mary (Cooper) Bintz. Her first marriage was to Robert Warrington and he is deceased. She then married Melvin J. Burkett and he died July 9, 1986.

Survivors include: two sons, Randy Warrington of Fort Scott, Kan., and Larry Warrington of London, Ohio; two stepchildren, Dennis Burkett and Martina Burkett, both of Fostoria; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nadine Brookman of Fostoria.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home with burial in Fairmont Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Florence M. Creager

Florence M. Creager, 91, of Port Clinton, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Riverview Senior Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born April 5, 1910, in Tiffin to Henry and Amelia (Klingshirn) Straub. She married Oscar Creager, who preceded her in death Nov. 18, 1972.

Survivors include: a son, William of Wakefield; four brothers, Robert of Bettsville, Henry and Lloyd of Tiffin, and Clarence of McCutchenville; and five sisters, Helen Santos, Dorothy Lake and Bernice Payne, all of Tiffin, and Marie Kiser of Bettsville, and Rose Mary Huff of Fostoria.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton. Interment will follow in Farewell Retreat Cemetery, Republic.

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are by the Gerner-Wolf-Brossia-Marsh Funeral Home, Port Clinton.
