MLC prof goes to the stocks

NEW ULM -- Accused of knowing too much about Lord of the Rings and watching all of the Star Trek movies back-to-back, Martin Luther College Latin, Greek and religion professor Keith Wessel was taken to the stocks Saturday at German Park.

Little John (Jeremiah Backhaus) held a saber over his head and Nora Webster (Abigail) watched closely.

A scribe's table offered calligraphy art to stop vices, among other things.

Coffee, tea, hot pretzels -- the food, games and related entertainment of 16th century England was all fun. Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" was performed by MLC Forum Productions Saturday evening. It will be performed again in the park at 2 p.m. Sunday.
