D& M CustomCycle designs, sells customair cleanersCustomerscoming fromnear, farBy FRITZ BUSCH Journal Staff Writer SEARLES -- If you like Harley-Davidson motorcyles and custom accessories, you should get a charge out of D&M Custom Cycle. Motorcycle enthusiasts Matt Gulden Jr. and Dave Walser opened their business in 1994. With the recent introduction of its own line of custom-designed air cleaners, the performance shop is becoming known throughout the Upper Midwest. Walser designed the chrome air cleaners that were tested for on the shop's own Super Flow 300 flow bench, culminating two years of work. The Power Flow and Spike air cleaners not only look attractive but also will improve performance by 20 percent and 10 percent respectively. The all-chrome New Dimension air cleaner looks more traditional. Adapters are available for horizontal or vertical mounting of all three types of air cleaners. Walser said he got promotional help from Jason Tauer Industries of Mankato. Drag Specialties recently ordered 40 of the air cleaners. Another dozen went to Orange County Choppers in New York, which just finished creating the "Spiderman" motorcycle and one for the Discovery Channel. The shop sells motorcycle parts, accessories and apparel, builds and repairs and custom paints all types of motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles from the ground up and welds and seals gas tanks.
