One man dead, two injured in Redwood Falls shooting

REDWOOD FALLS -- One man was killed and two others were injured in an early Saturday shooting incident in Redwood Falls.

Police said four suspects suspects have been taken into custody as police pursue a homicide investigation. Charges are pending.

Redwood Falls officers went to the 300 block of Sunrise Boulevard at about 2:20 a.m. Saturday after receiving a report of shots being fired. They found three men wounded, police said. All three, who are from the Redwood Falls area, were taken to the Redwood Falls Hospital, where one of the men died. The other two wounded men were flown to a hospital in the Twin Cities for treatment, police said.

Police Chief Mark Dressen said the suspects and the victims were apparently acquainted with each other, and all are in their 20s.

Names of the victims were being withheld until family members had been notified.

No other details of the incident were being released Saturday as the investigation continues. The Redwood Falls Police Department is being assisted by the Redwood County Sheriff's Office, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Lower Sioux Police, the Morgan Police Dept., and the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
